The Xicen Science and Technology Innovation Center, located in Jinze Town, Qingpu, is an important component of the Yangtze River Delta Integration Demonstration Zone, which aims to build the most dynamic innovation core in the Yangtze River Delta and create a world-class science and technology innovation town. The Xicen Science and Technology Innovation Center is divided into two areas: the east area is Huawei Qingpu R&D Center, and the west area is Xicen Science and Technology Innovation Park. On September 2nd, the reporter learned from the Yangtze River Delta Investment Co., Ltd. that the spatial pattern of "one park, two cores, and nine islands" in the Xicen Science and Technology Innovation Park, which they are responsible for investing in and constructing, has recently been established. The project aims to create a demonstration town of urban water symbiosis and Jiangnan dual carbon, and is entering the accelerated construction stage.
The water surface area of Xicen Science and Technology Innovation Park reaches 12%, with a blue-green ratio of about 26%. The natural water system is the largest ecological resource in Xicen Science and Technology Innovation Park. A person from the Yangtze River Delta Investment Company told reporters that in the planning, the park will implement the green concept into the water system design, retain all existing rivers, connect the Broken Head Bund, and connect the rivers and lakes, upgrade the previously fragmented and inefficient blue-green space into the Xicen Water Town Park, and optimize the shape of the lake bottom to enhance water dynamics.
In the future, water ecological restoration will be the top priority. Through measures such as setting up soft enclosures at the estuary, waterfront ecological buffer zones, floating wetland islands, point source purification devices, and building aquatic animal and plant communities, the water quality of Xicen Science and Technology Innovation Park will gradually be comprehensively improved to Class II-III, with a transparency of over 0.8 meters, presenting a scene of "clear water, green banks, and shallow bottoms where fish soar".
The emerging spatial pattern of "one park, two cores, nine islands, and three clusters" refers to the creation of nine different themed "water town smart islands" to provide dynamic and innovative communities for young scientific and technological innovation groups worldwide; Inheriting the traditional layout of "river settlement nature" in Jiangnan water towns, using urban waterfront and public buildings as public hubs, continuing existing water town transportation methods, and reproducing the style of Jiangnan water town by extracting traditional building materials, colors, and other elements.

The Xicen Cultural Center and Xicen Sports Center will be used as demonstration pilots for ultra-low energy consumption or carbon neutrality in the Xicen Science and Technology Innovation Park, promoting the green and low-carbon construction of the entire Xicen Science and Technology Innovation Park.
Officials from the Yangtze River Delta Investment Company stated that they have recently won the bid for the "Urban Village" renovation project in Xicen Community and will soon start development and construction. In the future, Xicen Community will become the shared public core of Xicen Science and Technology Innovation Park. In the design, it will inherit the historical context of Xicen and use the "Shanshui Jiangnan" design method to comprehensively arrange high-level science and technology innovation supporting functions such as the new Jiangnan water street, office headquarters, business hotels, and administrative service centers.
