The first Shanghai International Carbon Expo is about to open. The reporter learned from the Shanghai Development and Reform Commission that this year's Carbon Expo will be themed "Towards Carbon Neutrality" and will last from June 11th to 14th. It includes three parts of activities: themed exhibitions, series of forums, and trade docking. The exhibition covers an area of 100000 square meters, with nearly 600 well-known domestic and foreign enterprises participating.
It is reported that the first Shanghai International Carbon Expo will focus on showcasing energy-saving and low-carbon technologies, products, and achievements, building a public platform for various entities in the entire industry chain to connect, cooperate, and exchange, promoting the promotion and application of carbon neutrality related technologies and the development of emerging industries, and promoting the green and low-carbon transformation of economic and social development. Specifically, there are four highlights:
Highlight 1: This year's Carbon Expo is the first domestic expo with the theme of "carbon neutrality", which is of great significance. Previously, Chen Shiyan, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Development and Reform Commission, introduced that the Carbon Expo is an important platform for strengthening international cooperation and expanding opening up and exchanges with the outside world. It helps to promote international and domestic scientific and technological innovation and industrial chain cooperation in the field of green and low-carbon. On the other hand, it is also an important tool to play a market role and cultivate green and low-carbon industries. It can build a public platform for communication, cooperation, and display among various entities in the green and low-carbon entire industrial chain, help enterprises better achieve low-carbon transformation and green development, and accelerate the development and growth of green and low-carbon new track industries.
Highlight 2: The theme exhibition will showcase over a thousand technologies and products indexed through a carbon neutrality technology map. This year's Carbon Expo includes six major sections, namely energy transformation, energy conservation and efficiency enhancement, circular economy, practical exploration, low-carbon services, and low-carbon transportation. Through the design of a carbon neutrality technology map, it will provide visitors with a one-stop service for exhibitors and exhibition technology quick indexing and querying. The exhibition will also organize a series of activities focusing on green and low-carbon technologies, new product releases, project signing, and pairing sessions.
Highlight three, the Carbon Expo will set up high-level conference activities such as keynote forums and scientific forums, allowing the forefront ideas and technologies of green and low-carbon to converge and collide.
Among them, the theme forum of Shanghai International Carbon Neutral Expo, co hosted by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, will be held on the morning of June 11, and will invite Fatih Birol, Director of the International Energy Agency, Roland Roche, Director of the Innovation Technology Center of the International Renewable Energy Agency, He Kebin, Academician of the CAE Member, Bao Xinhe, Academician of the CAS Member and other domestic and foreign guests to make keynote speeches. At the same time, ten progressiveness and representative green low-carbon enterprise cases at home and abroad will be centrally released at the theme forum, and the declaration of Shanghai low-carbon initiative will be released.
The Science Forum is hosted by the World Association of Top Scientists, Tsinghua University Institute of Carbon Neutrality, Tsinghua University Institute of Climate Change and Sustainable Development, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University Institute of Carbon Neutrality Development. It will be held on the afternoon of June 11th and will invite around 20 world top science award winners, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, overseas academicians, experts and scholars, as well as guests from all walks of life, to share and exchange cutting-edge scientific research and revolutionary technologies related to low-carbon energy and circular economy development.
Highlight 4: This year's Carbon Expo will implement the concept of green exhibition hosting. The organizer of the Shanghai International Carbon Neutrality Expo, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, has fully promoted green and low-carbon exhibition methods such as paperless and recycling to exhibitors. It advocates for green travel and voluntary participation in carbon emission offsetting and other green and low-carbon exhibition methods to the audience, and collaborates with various technological means to minimize exhibition carbon emissions, striving to create a benchmark for domestic zero carbon exhibitions.
At present, the Shanghai International Carbon Expo has opened a reservation channel, and visitors can register through the "Carbon Neutrality Expo" mini program.
