They were 175 "Ele.me" delivery riders and station service provider employees from different regions, representing the company's 11000 nationwide delivery stations and more than 3 million "Blue Knights", attending the annual "Ele.me" platform worker representative conference.
This is the first online workers' congress in the national online catering industry, creating a new record of the number of workers' congress system covered by enterprises on the Shanghai Internet platform. At the same time, the on-site review and approval of the collective contract for the entire network, three special collective contracts for the entire network, and the implementation measures for the National Congress of Workers for the entire network have fixed the rights and interests protection of employees in various aspects of new employment forms in the form of contracts for the first time.
Behind multiple firsts is a new breakthrough in the work of national trade unions. For example, the attending representatives not only include "Ele.me" employees, but also some part-time riders. As long as they have business relations with the company, their relevant rights and interests will be protected and reflected in the contract. These rights include physical examination, psychological counseling, promotion channels, children's education, major illness insurance, self education, and participation in democratic management. In addition, employees of enterprises come from all over the country, and the protection of rights and interests in contracts is not a one size fits all approach. The requirement is not to be lower than local standards, which is more scientific and executable.
These breakthroughs were not achieved overnight. The employee representative, "Ele.me" Blue Knight Zongbo, introduced that the labor union organization had previously understood the difficulties and demands of employees through various means, helping them solve many problems. Now with the Workers' Congress, employees have a regular channel to reflect on issues. "Ele.me" Party Secretary and Trade Union Chairman Xiao Shuixian also stated that in the past few years, with the help of higher-level trade unions, enterprise trade unions have continuously improved their services from organizational coverage to work coverage. The convening of this Workers' Congress is another upgrade of trade union services.
A series of innovative practices have solved some pain points in the past when trade unions served workers in new forms of employment, and are expected to drive a new situation in Shanghai and even the whole country to open up platform enterprises and workers to negotiate and coordinate mechanism construction.
It is reported that as of now, the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions has innovatively formed four new forms of employment democratic consultation in Shanghai, including "Consultation and Sincerity", "Joint Workers' Congress", "Association Establishment and System Linkage", and "Full Network Democratic Consultation". It is at the forefront of the construction of the national new employment form consultation and coordination mechanism.
Huang Hong, Secretary of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions, stated that we will accelerate the replication and promotion of this "full network model" to enterprises in the same industry and type, strengthen the linkage of the establishment of trade unions, and integrate the promotion of trade union formation, negotiation and establishment, inclusive services, and conflict resolution and other rights protection services.
