The enthusiasm for construction is high, and the railway transportation in the Yangtze River Delta is thriving for both passenger and freight
The summer season is coming to an end. Recently, the Yangtze River Delta Railway has added dozens of direct trains from Beijing, Changsha, Chongqing and other areas, as well as trains from Shanghai to northern Jiangsu, from Zhejiang to northern Anhui, and within Zhejiang Province, to meet the travel needs of large return passenger flows.
At the same time as passenger transportation business is improving, good news has also been coming from the freight and construction sectors of the Yangtze River Delta railway: on August 22nd, the first "Lanxi" China Europe freight train was loaded with 110 TEUs of "Made in Zhejiang" export goods to Europe; On the 27th, the first box girder of the Shanghai Nanjing Hefei high-speed railway was successfully erected, and the project construction entered the stage of full line girder erection
The prosperity of passenger and freight transportation and the enthusiasm for construction are exactly the reflection of the current Yangtze River Delta railway. The reporter learned from China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd. that 2023 marks the fifth anniversary of the rise of the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta to a national strategy. The railway department is accelerating the construction of the "Yangtze River Delta on the track" to provide transportation support for promoting high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
Accelerating the construction of the "Yangtze River Delta on the track" also includes upgrading services. Typhoon, rainstorm and other weather in summer affect the railway travel. When the train is late, how can passengers know about the delay of the train without leaving home so that they can reasonably arrange the journey in advance? In response to this, the Yangtze River Delta Railway actively connects with the China Academy of Railway Sciences and takes the lead in piloting the use of a delayed train information release platform throughout the railway, accurately and timely pushing delayed information.
In order to connect the last mile of travel for special passengers such as the elderly, children, sick, disabled, and pregnant, the railway department of the Yangtze River Delta has coordinated with frontline passenger stations to set up 215 key passenger ticketing windows and 157 barrier free ticketing windows. 109 Leifeng service stations distributed in one city and three provinces provide online and offline booking services for passengers, seamlessly connecting and serving the travel of special passengers through connecting transportation.
In terms of flexible and efficient increase and decrease of transportation capacity, the Yangtze River Delta Railway can add a passenger train within two hours at the fastest, allowing passengers to leave as they please. As of the end of August, the Yangtze River Delta Railway has adjusted the operation of 79021 passenger trains this year.
It is reported that since the beginning of this year, the Yangtze River Delta Railway has sent over 530 million passengers, an increase of 8.9% compared to the same period in 2019; Sending 133.72 million tons of goods, a year-on-year increase of 1.7%, continuously promoting the increase of "transit to rail" volume; Completed infrastructure investment of 67.86 billion yuan, an increase of 16.64 billion yuan compared to the same period last year.
