Striving to achieve carbon neutrality in its own operations before 2035, Shanghai Electric has released its first "dual carbon" action plan for operation | Electric | Dual Carbon
At the Shanghai International Carbon Expo, which opened on June 11th, Shanghai Electric officially released the "Shanghai Electric Group's" Dual Carbon "Action Plan, proposing the development goal of" ensuring carbon peak before 2030, striving to achieve carbon neutrality in its own operations before 2035, and carbon neutrality in the entire value chain before 2055 ". Shanghai Electric also released the latest products in the four major fields of wind, light, storage, and hydrogen.
According to research data from Zhongzi, energy and industry are the two largest industries in China with the highest proportion of carbon emissions, accounting for 51% and 28% respectively. The relevant person in charge of Shanghai Electric Group introduced on site that facing the two main battlefields of carbon reduction in energy and industry, Shanghai Electric is building a new power system and a zero carbon industrial park through three paths: energy efficiency improvement, energy substitution, and resource circulation, promoting enterprises to achieve their own "dual carbon" goals in operation and driving green upgrading and transformation of industries.
The new power system requires the support of new energy. At this Carbon Expo, Shanghai Electric brought its latest products in the four major new energy fields of wind, solar, storage, and hydrogen, namely "16+MW all sea area high-capacity wind turbines", "20 gigawatt heterojunction photovoltaic whole line equipment", "500 kW/3000 kWh modular flow batteries", and "2000 standard cubic meters per hour alkaline electrolysis tank", all of which have made breakthrough progress in the industry.
For example, the 16+MW offshore high-capacity wind turbine was developed by Shanghai Electric Wind Power Group and is currently the world's largest offshore wind power technology that has been awarded a bid. Moreover, this technology can be further expanded to 18 megawatts through platform based development. Through technological innovation, the yield of this offshore wind power technology has also significantly increased. If measured in millions of kilowatts of capacity, the investment in this project has decreased by about 2 billion yuan.
In addition, to promote the collective transformation of industries, Shanghai Electric also held a launch ceremony for the preparation of the "Guidelines for the Implementation Path Planning and Evaluation of Zero Carbon Industrial Parks" at the Carbon Expo site. In collaboration with units and enterprises such as East China Construction, Shanghai Environmental Energy Exchange, Shanghai Energy Efficiency Center, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric, etc., Shanghai Electric focused on the planning and construction of creating an ecological environment for zero carbon industrial parks.
