Shanghai Petrochemical has added a "power supply lifeline" and a new 220 kV power supply interconnection line has been connected to the grid
On the morning of August 29th, the third 220kV power supply line project of Shanghai Petrochemical was completed and put into operation, and successfully integrated into the Shanghai power grid. At this point, the power connection line between Shanghai Petrochemical and Shanghai Power Grid has increased from two circuits to three circuits, and the power received has increased from 290 MW to 520 MW, providing strong power guarantee for the company's safe and stable production and sustainable development.
The project includes the construction of approximately 22 kilometers of 220 kV overhead power lines between the 500 kV Tingwei Substation and the Second Thermal Power Station, as well as 83 power towers.
It is understood that the company has been building its own power plant since the 1970s, and has successively established the first and second 220 kV power supply interconnection lines with Shanghai Power Grid, namely Yangshi 2110 and Yangjin 2119. They are connected to the Shanghai Power Grid Tingwei District 220 kV Jinyang Station through the Shanghai Power Grid line, with a maximum receiving power of 290 megawatts.
The construction of the third power supply interconnection line this time is mainly considered from two factors: on the one hand, due to the long operation period of the first and second power supply interconnection lines, the stress loss of the tower is significant, the power transmission strength is reduced, and the line is close to the coastline, severely corroded by salt spray, with a high failure rate and poor reliability. On the other hand, in recent years, the production scale of Shanghai Petrochemical has been continuously expanding, with an average electricity load of up to 450 megawatts. Especially in 2022, when the large fiber bundle carbon fiber project is put into operation and all subsequent production lines are put into production, a certain amount of production electricity demand will be added. The average power generation of self owned power plants is about 300 megawatts, and with two connecting lines receiving 290 megawatts of electricity, the power supply space is extremely limited, which will become a bottleneck for the further development of enterprises. In order to effectively ensure the safety of the company's power grid and electricity demand, Shanghai Petrochemical has decided to construct a 220 kV third power supply incoming line project, which will officially start construction in May 2021.
