Recently, the Ministry of Commerce announced the list of e-commerce demonstration enterprises, identifying 132 enterprises such as Taotian, JD.com, Pinduoduo, and NetEase as e-commerce demonstration enterprises. Among them, 13 Shanghai enterprises are on the list. From the list, it can be seen that the selected enterprises in Shanghai have a relatively wide industry distribution, covering consumer e-commerce, industrial e-commerce, fresh e-commerce, private platform and other fields, with rapid development momentum and forming unique industrial advantages.
Among the selected enterprises, whether in terms of user scale or market value, Pinduoduo has become the second largest e-commerce platform in China. According to the "Top 500 Chinese Listed Enterprises by Market Value" list released by Wind in the first half of 2023, Pinduoduo's market value ranks first among Shanghai enterprises; OMYC Cloud Commerce is one of the representative platforms of industrial e-commerce. It is a steel service platform integrating information, transaction settlement, logistics warehousing, processing and distribution and other functions built by Baosteel Group by integrating the original resources related to steel electronic trading and relying on the Internet, the Internet of Things, big data and other means; Hema and Dingdong Maicai are both fresh food e-commerce enterprises that started in Shanghai. This year, Hema and Dingdong Maicai have announced profitability and expanded their business from Shanghai to the whole country.
Shanghai Zhongdan Information Technology Co., Ltd. is the only decentralized e-commerce platform on the list, helping businesses create their own "personalized e-commerce platform" and generate private domain traffic. According to the latest data, Dream Pay Technology has served over 20000 merchants and sold over 700 million items, becoming one of the rising "new e-commerce forces" in Shanghai. In addition, top companies in sub sectors such as Ctrip, Xiaohongshu, and Yiyao are also on the list.
It is understood that the Ministry of Commerce is carrying out the creation of e-commerce demonstration enterprises, aiming to deepen the promotion of e-commerce demonstration projects, guide e-commerce enterprises to operate legally and compliantly, create e-commerce demonstration enterprises that promote integration, people's livelihoods, development, revitalization, environment, and openness, promote high-quality development of China's e-commerce, and build a new development pattern.
