The reporter learned from China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd. that as of July 31, more than half of the railway summer transportation has been carried out, and the Yangtze River Delta Railway has sent over 81 million passengers, nearly 12.4 million more than the same period in 2019, a year-on-year increase of over 18%, with a daily average of over 2.6 million passengers sent.
In the past 31 days of summer transportation, the Yangtze River Delta Railway has sent over 19 million direct passengers and over 62 million passengers within its jurisdiction. On July 1st, 2.976 million passengers were sent, the highest daily passenger volume since this year's summer travel. From the perspective of passenger volume in various regions within the jurisdiction, Shanghai has sent over 13.4 million passengers, Zhejiang has sent over 24.2 million passengers, Jiangsu has sent over 27.4 million passengers, and Anhui has sent over 14.7 million passengers. The station with the highest number of passengers sent is Shanghai Hongqiao Station, with an average of nearly 250000 passengers sent per day, setting a new high for summer travel in previous years.
The reporter learned that in recent years, several new summer transportation lines in Jiangsu Province have been operating with a booming passenger flow, providing strong transportation support for the economic and social development of northern Jiangsu. The daily average number of passengers sent by Lianyungang Station, Huai'an East Station, and Yangzhou East Station of Lianzhen High Speed Railway exceeds 27000, 21000, and 17000 respectively; The daily average number of passengers sent by Yancheng Station and Nantong Station of the Yantong High Speed Railway exceeds 18000 and 11000 respectively.
In addition, the Y701/Y702 red tourism train from Shanghai to Jiaxing has been highly sought after by the market since its resumption on March 1st, with passenger flow continuing to be hot. Passengers from Beijing, Xi'an, Hefei, Nanchang, Wuhan and other places have come to experience check-in. As of now, the red tourism train has received over 130000 passengers this year. It is reported that the Yangtze River Delta Railway has arranged to add 12 pairs of direct passenger trains from the Yangtze River Delta to Beijing, Hunan, Henan, Jiangxi, Gansu, Xinjiang, and other directions based on the "7.1" new map of 1302 pairs of passenger train operation lines. According to the summer passenger flow pattern, accurately implement "one map per day" and implement peak operation maps for high-speed railways, passenger dedicated lines, and conventional speed lines during peak passenger flow periods. In the past 31 days of summer transportation, a total of 941 passenger trains have been added, and 3180 high-speed trains have been arranged for multiple coupling with 3049 additional vehicles.
This summer, the Yangtze River Delta region has a high amount of precipitation and strong winds, especially the 5th and 6th typhoons "Dussuri" and "Kanu", which have had a serious impact on railway transportation. The Yangtze River Delta Railway immediately initiated emergency response and adjusted train operations in a timely manner. As of August 1st, due to the impact of the typhoon, the Yangtze River Delta Railway has implemented measures to suspend and increase the operation of 272 high-speed trains, issued more than 90 dispatch orders to adjust train operations, and temporarily suspended passenger trains on some routes with excessive rainfall to ensure the safety of passengers' lives and property.
