In 2022, Shanghai's ultra-low energy building scale ranked first in the country | International | Shanghai
The development of green buildings in Shanghai has achieved remarkable results. The Shanghai Green Building Development Report 2022 was recently released at the 2023 Shanghai Green Building International Forum. The report states that as of the end of 2022, a total of 127 ultra-low energy building projects have been implemented, with a construction area of 10.3 million square meters and a development scale ranking first in the country. Among them, the Lingang World Top Scientists Forum Conference Center has become the largest ultra-low energy public building in the country.
As of the end of 2022, Shanghai has created a total of 21 green ecological urban areas, with a total land area of approximately 58.7 square kilometers. In 2022 alone, six green ecological urban projects were completed and created, with a total land area of about 17 square kilometers, including the Zhangjiang Science City International Community Starting Area, North Bund Area, Jing'an North High tech Park, Ruihong New City, Baoshan South Region, and Fengjing Town in Jinshan District.
What standards do green ecological urban areas need to meet? The relevant person in charge of the Shanghai Green Building Association introduced that Ruihong New City in Hongkou District, Baoshan South Region, and Fengjing Town in Jinshan District have become representative cases. These three urban areas have formulated regional development strategies tailored to local conditions.
For example, Ruihong New City focuses on fashion, green consumption, and livable and business friendly communities with sustainable quality. With the concept of 15 minute vitality city and 24 hour ecological city, it has created a green renewal demonstration livable benchmark. Among them, all newly built buildings in the region comply with green building standards, with over 95% of them being two-star or above green buildings. New residential and public buildings have also been fully decorated. In addition, green transportation is convenient and accessible, with 4 rail transit lines and 4 subway stations within the planned scope. The coverage rate of bus stops within 500 meters reaches 100%.
Baoshan South Urban Area is a newly developed urban area with the goal of "artificial intelligence+future city and smart city". It focuses on vibrant public spaces, optimizing ecological environment, low-carbon energy utilization, and intelligent management, creating a dynamic international future smart city. Fengjing Town in Jinshan District is built on historical and cultural heritage, leveraging the strategic positioning of a comprehensive node town in the southern wing of the Yangtze River Delta to create a science and technology innovation town and a cultural and educational center.
With the advancement of urban renewal, existing buildings have also joined the process of greening. In recent years, how to integrate green concepts into renovation has become an exploration direction in the industry. According to statistics, as of the end of 2022, Shanghai has implemented energy-saving renovations of 4.4 million square meters of existing public buildings and 8.87 million square meters of residential buildings.
Recently, the Shanghai Green Building Association selected 15 municipal level existing green and low-carbon renovation projects, including 2 platinum awards, 7 gold awards, and 6 silver awards. A representative project is the Platinum Award winner - the renovation of the South Building of East China Hospital. The original name of the South Building was "Hong'en Hospital", which was the first project entirely under the responsibility of Wudak. When the hospital was first completed, it was hailed as the "best hospital in the Far East" and was awarded a municipal cultural relic protection unit in 1989.
Under the principles of protecting cultural relics and excellent historical buildings, the South Tower has improved its energy-saving performance, introduced intelligent electromechanical systems, and added barrier free facilities. Due to limitations in the repair of cultural relics and buildings, the South Tower cannot be built according to the energy-saving standards of new buildings. However, within the operable space, the design and construction team tries their best to analyze each item and improve performance as much as possible. For example, external wall insulation has been added, roof insulation has been re laid, activity curtains have been added for external shading, and bulletproof glass sunshades have been added to the second floor.
It is reported that the projects that have been awarded this time include the renovation of the French Pavilion and the Italian Pavilion in the World Expo Cultural Park, the renovation of the Jasmine Theater in the Shanghai Workers' Cultural Palace, the protective comprehensive renovation project of the 115-02 plot in the west of Zhangyuan, the renovation project of the shipyard 1862, the renovation project of the Lanxin Grand Theater, and the renovation project of Yan Tongchun's residence at 816 Yan'an Middle Road.
