The reporter learned from the Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology that the competition was launched in March this year and officially entered the semi-finals stage yesterday. 120 excellent projects won from over 500 registered projects and were qualified for the semi-finals.
Shanghai is one of the earliest cities in China to lay out future industries. In Shanghai's "2++" modern industrial system, "2" refers to the two major transformations of digitalization and greening of traditional industries; The "3+6" composed of three leading industries including artificial intelligence and six key industries such as automobiles is the "today" of Shanghai's industry; The four new tracks of digital economy and metaverse are called "tomorrow"; The five major future industries, including future health, future intelligence, future energy, future space, and future materials, constitute the future. Li Yuhong, Director of the Technology Progress Department of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, introduced that since the launch of the competition, the total number of registrations has reached 536, including 419 project teams and 117 talent teams, involving 8 countries including China, the United States, Britain and Germany. 14 provinces in China have participated, including key projects and teams led by academician experts, Changjiang scholars, and chief scientists of national key research and development projects. After selecting the best from the best, 120 projects have advanced to the semi-finals. For example, in the field of future health, there is a startup company called "Zero Uniqueness" jointly founded by Professor Lv Baoliang of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Miha You, which focuses on the development and application of emotional brain computer interface technology and creates emotional service robots; In the field of future intelligence, Shenshi Technology, led by Academician Ewenan of the Chinese Academy of Sciences as the chief consultant, is combining artificial intelligence and multi-scale molecular modeling theory to break the traditional lack of mature and computable models for inherent disordered protein design problems in new drug research and development computational simulation platforms; In terms of future space, the commercial aerospace field focuses on the innovative enterprise Blue Star Optics, which specializes in laser communication. However, Dr. Guo's "Energy Singularity" company still receives a series of tolerance and honors, including being the only start-up company among the five vice chairman units of the Shanghai Future Industry Advanced Nuclear Energy Expert Committee and being a centralized signing company for the third anniversary project of the Lingang New Area.
Zhang Hongtao, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, introduced that Shanghai will fully support future industrial development by strengthening core technology research and development, building future industry benchmark demonstration scenarios, and continuously improving the growth environment for innovative enterprises.
