The reporter learned from the Yangshan Border Inspection Station that in the first half of this year, the export of automobiles from Shanghai Nangang Port exceeded 150000, a year-on-year increase of 186%. Since July, more than 20000 automobiles have been exported, and the export speed of automobiles has repeatedly reached new highs.
According to statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China has jumped to become the world's largest automobile exporter in the first half of this year. From the perspective of Shanghai Nangang Port, the import and export trade of automobiles has reached a new level in terms of quantity, roll on/roll off efficiency, and coverage of routes.
As of July 15th this year, Yangshan Border Inspection Station has inspected a total of 130 inbound and outbound roll on/roll off ships, ensuring the export of more than 170000 commercial vehicles.
On the route, after stable operation of long-distance routes such as Europe and New Zealand, Shanghai Nangang Port opened a new direct route to North America in April, with exports covering more countries such as Canada and the United States.
In terms of transportation volume, with the investment of new transportation capacity, the number of roll on/roll off ships carrying over 3000 commercial vehicles per ship has reached 23, an increase of 176% compared to the same period last year. It has become a norm for Nangang Port to be filled with vehicles waiting for export.
In terms of efficiency, the speed of vehicle roll on/roll off operations has increased, and the average time for roll on/roll off ships in port has been shortened by more than 4 hours compared to the same period last year.
In addition, the terminal has added a new import and export distribution business for automobiles. Imported automobiles enter the Yangshan Special Comprehensive Bonded Zone and are then transported overseas by ship through the Nangang Terminal. As of now, Shanghai Nangang has collected and transported more than 20800 vehicles, highlighting its position as a hub for international automotive trade.
It is reported that the Yangshan Border Inspection Station is currently focusing on improving the quality of police and service, scientifically arranging all-weather duty under conditions such as strong convection and high temperature, coordinating the deployment of duty and standby police forces, and improving the efficiency of police use; On the other hand, we will carry out limited area governance at ports, strengthen the inspection of checkpoint and elevator coordinators, border inspection "boarding codes", and personnel and vehicles entering and exiting ports. We will coordinate with the port to take measures such as strengthening comprehensive port governance, improving port supervision facilities, and strengthening joint supervision of domestic and foreign trade to continuously provide a safe and orderly production and operation environment.
