Do you want to stock up on salt?, Japan's Nuclear Polluted Water Discharged into the Sea Salt | Well Mineral Salt | Japan
Due to the impact of Japan's nuclear contaminated water discharge into the sea, some markets in China have experienced a phenomenon of salt rush buying. On August 24th, China Salt Group, the only state-owned enterprise in China's salt industry, issued a statement: China Salt Group has a complete production and sales enterprise layout in the country, with sufficient supply of salt reserves. Despite some regional markets in China experiencing salt rush purchases and short-term shortages in e-commerce and some supermarket channels, China Salt Group is currently working overtime to produce and distribute, and is fully committed to ensuring market supply. China Salt Group calls on all sectors of society to consume rationally and not blindly rush to purchase.
China National Salt Corporation pointed out in a statement that China implements designated production management for table salt, and the sources of table salt in China are mainly divided into three categories: well salt, lake salt, and sea salt. The current proportion of salt products in China is 87% for well salt, 10% for sea salt, and 3% for lake salt. The production of well salt and lake salt is not affected by Japan's nuclear pollution.
China Salt Group is the world's largest salt production enterprise, with a salt production capacity of over 10 million tons per year, of which well salt accounts for 95%, lake salt accounts for 4%, and sea salt accounts for 1%. China Salt Group has a comprehensive product quality management system and a salt safety risk assessment system. Salt products can be traced back to the source, ensuring quality and safety. In the past market fluctuations caused by SARS in 2003, Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, Japan earthquake in 2011 and COVID-19, China Salt Group has well guaranteed the supply of salt market.
According to experts, mine salt refers to the salt extracted through underground mining methods, including drilling to extract natural brine underground and processing underground rock salt. The reporter learned that if it is well salt, the packaging of "Zhongyan" brand edible salt will indicate "refined from underground natural salt mines as raw materials.". At present, China Salt Group has established production bases for well salt in Ji'an, Jiangxi, Ningjin, Hebei, Jintan, Changzhou, Yulin, Shaanxi, Dingyuan, Anhui, Yunmeng, Hubei, and other places.
At the same time, the printing code for the production date on the packaging of "Zhongyan" brand edible salt will represent the corresponding base enterprise with letters. For example, a package of "Zhongyan" brand edible salt with the two letters "YM" printed below the production date means that the product is produced by Zhongyan Dongxing Yunmeng Salt Co., Ltd. located in Yunmeng, Hubei. According to the data, Yunmeng County is located in the Jingzhou Basin area in the southern part of Hubei Province, with abundant salt resources. There is a Yangtoushan salt mine in the southern part of Yunmeng County.
