Deep micro tourism in Shanghai is on the rise, and local tourists have to explore the streets even in the scorching heat. Shanghai | City | Roads
In addition to the Bund, Lujiazui, Chenghuang Temple and Disney, what else can you play in Shanghai? Old western-style houses under wutong trees, 64 small roads that will never be widened, and the ever-changing urban landscape along the Huangpu River and Suzhou River... There are so many places to visit in Shanghai that even local people can't explore them.
At the 2023 "Travel+" series of cultural and tourism sharing events, which concluded on August 12th, multiple micro tours with themes such as "architecture readable", "Shanghai style urban archaeology", "one river, one river", and "Jiangnan culture" were held, leading citizens and tourists to deeply experience high-quality urban cultural and tourism resources, fully appreciate the changes and development of Shanghai style urban history, culture, and lifestyle, and witness a new picture of cultural and tourism integration.
This year's "Travel+" series of cultural and tourism sharing events will adopt a "theme sharing+deep micro tour" approach, with senior experts, writers, tour guides and other specially invited guests sharing cultural and tourism themes. In the second half of the sharing event, guests will take citizens and tourists to check in on urban micro tours around the theme, fully experiencing the rich cultural connotations and historical heritage nurtured by Shanghai, a Shanghai style city.
The first theme sharing of "Architecture Readable, Urban Micro Renewal" was led by Zhou Peiyuan, the Shanghai "Architecture Readable" publicity ambassador, and Shi Wen, the gold medal tour guide of Changning, to walk into the unique cultural and tourism districts of Changning City, such as Sunke Villa, Hudak Memorial Hall, and Happiness Lane, where visitors can visit the new landmark of Changning City and check in on the architectural treasures deep in the alleys.
The second scene, "Shanghai style urban archaeology, 'bridge' to see a century old Jing'an", under the leadership of Yang Hong, a senior tour guide of Shanghai city tour, shuttled through the Xizang Road and Bridge, Henan Road and Bridge, Zhejiang Road and Bridge on the Suzhou River, exploring the classic legend of Shikumen, interpreting the past and present life of "Shenyuli", and appreciating the vicissitudes of Shanghai in the past century.
The third episode of "Jiangnan Culture - Jiangnan Elegant Ode, Eight Hundred Years of Jiading" takes a stroll through the ancient town of Jiading, which has been influenced by Jiangnan culture for eight hundred years, showcasing the elegant charm of the Southern Song Dynasty. Tao Jiming, former director of the research department of the Jiading Museum and expert in Jiading local history, decoded the "secret language" of the changes in the ancient city of Jiading over the past eight hundred years with his profound knowledge, giving this water town with pink walls and black tiles a new interpretation.
The fourth "One River, One River - Colors in the Literary Geography of Suzhou River", the "Travel+" sharing activity, for the first time, set foot on the Suzhou River section. Yang Xiuli, Vice President of the Shanghai Poetry Society, launched a romantic and poetic interpretation and tour, embarking on a literary and artistic journey of Suzhou River, immersing oneself in the highly artistic cultural landmarks on both sides of the river.
The "Travel+" series of sharing events is a cultural and tourism brand event launched by the Shanghai Cultural Tourism Public Service and Talent Service Center. The event fully leverages the urban linkage effect and collaborates with the district's cultural and tourism service center to create a carefully crafted event. Over the past three years, the "Travel+" cultural and tourism sharing event has gained numerous fans and audiences. This year's event has welcomed both old fans and new friends.
It is worth mentioning that after the recruitment and release of each event, the registration of citizens and tourists is very enthusiastic. Despite experiencing high temperatures during the summer in the later outdoor micro tours, participants remained enthusiastic and not only followed the guests throughout the journey, but also kept asking questions throughout the itinerary. Many of these tourists are citizens who have been working and living in Shanghai for a long time. Some tourists who have participated in activities multiple times said, "Participating in micro tours has allowed me to learn more about Shanghai and have made many new discoveries!"
