The reporter learned from China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd. that in the first half of this year, the Yangtze River Delta Railway sent over 370 million passengers, with a daily average of over 2 million passengers sent. From the trend of passenger flow, the number of passengers sent has significantly increased in April, May, and June, with a total of nearly 210 million passengers sent in the past three months, an increase of over 10% compared to the same period in 2019. Among them, 3.711 million passengers were sent on May 1st, setting a new historical high in the daily passenger volume of the Yangtze River Delta railway.
According to staff from the Passenger Transport Department of the Shanghai Bureau Group, in the first half of the year, with stable and positive economic and social development, the overall passenger flow of the Yangtze River Delta railway showed a recovering growth trend. Among them, during the Qingming Festival, May Day, and Dragon Boat Festival holidays, the passenger flow of the Yangtze River Delta railway has rebounded significantly, and the passenger volume has rapidly increased.
In response to the concentrated travel needs of holiday passengers, the railway department has adopted methods such as adding high-speed trains at night, moving sleeper trains, and regular speed temporary passenger trains to serve passenger travel. In the first half of the year, the Yangtze River Delta Railway added 6067 temporary passenger trains, a significant increase compared to the same period in 2019.
In terms of passenger transportation products, starting from April 1st, high-speed trains between Shanghai Hongqiao and Hong Kong West Kowloon will resume operation, making it more convenient for residents to travel between Shanghai and Hong Kong; Starting from June 8th, the Ninghang High Speed Railway and the Beijing Hong Kong High Speed Railway Hehuang section officially launched new ticketing products such as 30 day regular tickets and 20 counting tickets, reducing travel costs for business travelers and commuters along the route.
In addition, the operation of branded tourism trains such as "Nanhu · 1921", "Leyou Yangtze River Delta · Liu'an", "Leyou Yangtze River Delta · Changshan", "Leyou Yangtze River Delta · Huaibei", "Jing'an · Yiling", and "Shanghai Holiday Train · Tonghua" not only meets the diversified needs of passengers, but also helps promote the development of tourism economy.
At present, railway transportation has entered a busy period of summer transportation.
