Asia Logistics Shipping and Air Transport Conference Shanghai Hong Kong Cooperation New Opportunities Sub Forum held Shipping | Cooperation | Air Transport
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Shanghai Hong Kong Cooperation Mechanism. On July 7th, the "Asia Logistics Shipping and Air Transport Conference - New Opportunities for Shanghai Hong Kong Cooperation Sub Forum" jointly organized by the Shanghai Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Hong Kong Trade Development Bureau, and the Shanghai Lingang Group was held at the Dishui Lake Convention Center in Lingang. This is also the first time since ALMAC held 12 consecutive sessions that it has traveled from Hong Kong to mainland China.
The Asian Logistics Shipping and Air Transport Conference is hosted by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and is one of the most important industry conferences in the Asian region. In November last year, Shanghai Lingang Group participated for the first time in Hong Kong, holding a themed forum on "New Situation of Shanghai Hong Kong Collaborative Innovation and Development", and setting up a special exhibition hall for the "Shanghai Lingang New Area".
The sub forum activities on July 7th focused on core topics such as "Technology and Openness" and "Trade and Investment", with a focus on exploring themes such as "Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement", "High end Shipping Services", "Shipping Arbitration", and "Smart Shipping and Sustainable Supply Chain".
Representatives attending the meeting believe that the shipping industry carries over 80% of the world's freight volume, and China is the world's largest commodity trading economy. In 2022, the total amount of commodity trade accounted for 12.5% of the world's total, making the shipping industry particularly important for national economic development. As the global economy gradually emerges from the shadow of the epidemic, the global supply chain has also generally returned to normal. However, facing many unstable external environmental factors, Shanghai and Hong Kong urgently need to actively explore more cooperation space in the field of shipping logistics, especially in the high-end shipping service industry, to join forces and ride the wind and waves together.
