This is not the first recall by Shanghai Lekou Lekou Trading Co., Ltd.
On January 21, 2021, Shanghai LeKou LeKou Trading Co., Ltd. initiated a recall program, recalling 3523050 "LocknLock" plastic drinking cups produced from 2019 to 2020.
For the reason for the recall, the buckle side claimed that there were defects in the product. The plastic water cup with a straight drinking mouth that needs to be recalled, although the certificate of conformity on the cup body or outer packaging has precautions to remind consumers to be careful of scalding when filling in hot water, the label and font on the certificate of conformity are too small to effectively serve as a warning. If consumers use it improperly, when putting in high-temperature hot water above 60 ℃, it may cause the pressure inside the cup to be too high, and the opening of the lid may cause hot air or hot water to spray out from the straight drinking mouth, which may cause burns.
The reporter learned from the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Market Regulation that this recall is the largest single recall of defective products in Shanghai since the launch of the defective product recall work in 2008.
Due to the large quantity of products, involving 43 series and 112 models, Shanghai LeKou LeKou Trading Co., Ltd. stated at the time that it was expected to take one year to complete the recall work.
