Five types of edible agricultural products have been listed as key regulatory targets by multiple departments. According to the Shanghai Food and Drug Safety Office, after reviewing and analyzing the relevant supervision and sampling situation in 2022, multiple departments have included cowpeas, ginger, bream, eel, and crucian carp in this year's Key Supervised Edible Agricultural Products Dynamic List.
In March of this year, the Shanghai Food and Drug Safety Office, together with the Shanghai Market Supervision Bureau, the Shanghai Agriculture and Rural Committee and other departments, issued the "Management Measures for the Dynamic List of Key Supervised Edible Agricultural Products", which included high-risk and problematic edible agricultural products in the "Dynamic List of Key Supervised Edible Agricultural Products". This is the first systematic work system in the country specifically designed to carry out cross departmental dynamic list based comprehensive management of key regulated edible agricultural products.
According to the introduction, edible agricultural product varieties that have a detection rate of no less than 5% in the previous year's supervision and inspection, a qualified rate of less than 98% in the evaluation and inspection, or have triggered sensitive, significant, or particularly significant public opinion events should be included in the list in principle.
The edible agricultural products included in the list will be the focus of daily supervision and inspection, and efforts will be made to increase traceability and sampling. When the market supervision department conducts food safety administrative inspections on major event guarantees, primary and secondary school canteens, and elderly care institution canteens, it requires relevant units to strictly manage the food safety of the listed edible agricultural products.
After the rectification of the above 5 edible agricultural products, if the annual supervision and inspection problem detection rate is less than 4% and the evaluation and inspection pass rate is not less than 98%, it will be removed from the list in principle.
It is also understood that in the past few years, key edible agricultural products such as leeks, bean sprouts, swimming crabs, and freshwater fish with low pass rates in supervision and sampling have significantly improved their pass rates after two consecutive years of comprehensive management.
As of the end of 2022, the qualified rate of evaluation sampling for four types of edible agricultural products sold in the Shanghai market, including chives, bean sprouts, swimming crabs, and freshwater fish, was 99.12%, an increase of 5.55% compared to before the rectification.
