On the occasion of the sixth Chinese Farmers Harvest Festival, the 11th National Farmers Photography Exhibition sponsored by the China Photographers Association and the Propaganda Department of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee recently opened at the Water Culture Ecological Park in Changchun City, Jilin Province, and the exhibition will last until October. 28th.
This exhibition has received positive responses from farmers and photographers engaged in "agriculture, rural areas and farmers". It received more than 50,000 submissions from all over the country, with nearly 3,000 contributors. In the end, 119 works were included in the exhibition. Among them, there are 60 single works and 59 group photos. The exhibited works record rural revitalization, depict beautiful hometowns, and express active and healthy rural grassroots cultural construction.
The exhibition is divided into 6 parts, carefully designed and overall laid out. The exhibition space renovated from the ruins of the original factory building is divided into two floors, with sunflowers, rice ears, corn, peppers and other agricultural elements dotted throughout, echoing the theme of this year's Farmers' Harvest Festival of "Celebrating Harvest, Promoting Harmony and Beauty". The works in the exhibition vary in size, with the largest one reaching 5 meters in size and having strong visual impact.
Wei Xuemin, a farmer photographer from Guangdong who is the representative of the participating authors and the author of the work "Happiness in the Heart" recommended by the jury, said that in 2015, his work appeared in the 5th National Farmer Photography Exhibition. It was a very important encouragement to him. Over the past 10 years, he and the camera have witnessed the process of rural poverty alleviation to revitalization, and witnessed the happy moments of the villagers. "Photography can record history, show the new look of the countryside, focus on rural revitalization, and freeze the beauty of hometown. This is the charm of photography."
The exhibition’s author Yang Rongmao said that his work “Travel” shot with a drone was based on his own fish farm. This is his first time to participate in the farmers' exhibition. He started taking photos in 2018, and all his works record the subjects around him.
Hou Tongtong from Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province shot a group of "Builders of Paimo Highway", which is a masterpiece that he went to Medog, Tibet twice and lived and ate with the workers.
On the opening day of the exhibition, an exhibition of outstanding photographic works by farmers in Jilin Province opened at the same time, and the album "The 11th National Farmer Photography Exhibition" was launched at the same time.
