Off site transportation and on-site safety are guaranteed, with over 19000 visitors on the first day of the 2023 Shanghai Book Fair. Traffic | Police | Safety
The 2023 Shanghai Book Fair officially opened today, and as of 19:00, it has attracted over 19000 visitors. According to the Jing'an police, based on online reservations and ticket purchases, the estimated passenger flow on the first day of the book fair may exceed 20000 people.
At around 10 o'clock today, the first key event of this year's book fair, the Launching Ceremony of the 2023 Scenery - New Era Climbing Plan Works Joint Exhibition, was held in the lobby on the first floor of the Friendship Hall. There were many people on site, and as we walked all the way from the gate to the venue, we encountered several waves of police patrolling, which was quite reassuring. Although there were many people queuing up, citizen Song Yilin felt that the process was very smooth, from ticket checking, passing security checks to entering the exhibition hall.
The Jing'an police conducted a comprehensive evaluation and inspection before the opening of the book exhibition, covering the transportation outside the exhibition hall, ticket inspection and security positions, as well as passenger flow safety and fire management inside the venue. Compared to previous security measures at the book fair, the police have optimized the patrol lines and checkpoints of both internal and external police officers, relying on the advantages of a temporary command center with flat command and intelligent police equipment for individual soldiers, to fully protect the safety of visitors to the exhibition.
The Shanghai Exhibition Center, the venue of the book fair, is located in the city center with limited parking resources. Prior to the opening of the book fair, the Jing'an Traffic Police Department issued the "Shanghai Book Fair Traffic Guidelines" to actively promote green travel for citizens. During the book exhibition, there is no social parking lot inside the Shanghai Exhibition Center. On the east side of Gate 1 and the black and yellow grid line between Gates 7 and 8 located on Nanjing West Road, the police have set up temporary drop off points, and exhibition vehicles can stop and leave immediately. During peak hours in the morning and evening, as well as during peak weekend passenger flows, the Jing'an police will also dispatch additional police officers and auxiliary police officers to station and direct traffic, avoiding traffic congestion and reducing the risk of accidents.
