Doing "magic" and buying "magic tools" for a year, cheated out of 200000 yuan, Shanghai woman meets online feng shui master Taomu | Master | Internet
A "transfer shield" costs 6888 yuan; A "peach wood sword" costs 2188 yuan; Do a "ritual" once, ranging from a few hundred to several thousand... Is the expensive "master" really so magical? Recently, the police in Xuhui cracked a fraud case and arrested a suspect, involving nearly 200000 yuan.
In July of this year, Ms. Chen, a citizen, reported to the Kangjian Xincun Police Station of Xuhui Public Security Bureau that in March last year, she met a "master" online who claimed to be proficient in feng shui and could help others dispel bad luck. Ms. Chen, who was facing a difficult life, held a trial and error attitude and asked the master to help with the process of transportation.
Afterwards, the "master" frequently used reasons such as "bad luck on you" and "small people around you" as reasons for Ms. Chen's actions, and at the same time, sold her expensive transportation "magic tools" such as peach and wood swords. Ms. Chen, who was trapped in it, spent nearly 200000 yuan over a year until she realized that she might have encountered a scammer, as reminded by her family and friends.
Partial chat records between victims and suspects
After investigation, the police confirmed that the true identity of the "master" was a woman surnamed Chen. After fixing relevant evidence, they rushed to another province to arrest her.
After Chen arrived at the case, she confessed that she self-taught Feng Shui knowledge online and gave herself the title of "Qingmuzi". The so-called "practice" of helping Ms. Chen was actually just hand drawing symbols or patterns based on online pictures, and then taking photos to collect money from her. The "teleportation tool" worth thousands of yuan sold to Ms. Chen is actually a children's toy bought online for tens of yuan.
At present, the suspect Chen has been taken criminal coercive measures by the Xuhui police in accordance with the law for suspected fraud, and the case is being further investigated.
