Does Amazon therapy actually encourage patients to use drugs? Foreign psychotherapist sentenced to life imprisonment by Shanghai court frog | toxin | psychotherapy
In recent years, the incidence of new types of drug crimes has continued to rise, and the criminal methods have been iteratively updated. Recently, the reporter learned about a case from the First Intermediate People's Court of Shanghai, where a foreign worker used psychological therapy to make a patient take drugs and was ultimately sentenced to life imprisonment.
25 year old Liu is one of the victims. Due to his busy career, Liu was under great mental pressure and met a foreign psychotherapist through a friend's introduction. It is said that the therapist has received professional training and obtained corresponding certification abroad, and is very skilled in psychological healing. The ancient "Amazon healing" method used for treatment costs two to three thousand yuan per session, and the effect is very good. Liu was deeply moved and immediately contacted the therapist to participate in the treatment.
According to the therapist's arrangement, Liu first sat with several other participants to introduce himself to each other, sharing experiences and traumas. Subsequently, the therapist distributed a drink to each person, claiming that the drink originated from a plant in the Amazon River basin. After drinking, the therapist asked Liu and others to lie down separately, stating that they would soon be able to see their own experiences of trauma and feel the care from all parties. After Liu and others followed suit, they truly felt an unprecedented sense of "comfort" and were floating on air. In just one year, Liu spent tens of thousands of yuan to participate in healing activities in order to constantly gain this pleasure.
Afterwards, Liu learned that the reason he could feel pleasure was because the drink he drank contained drugs such as "San Pedro", "Dead Vine Water", and "Frog Toxin". After the incident, relevant departments found out that foreign psychotherapist Ma had repeatedly purchased "San Pedro", "Dead Vine Water", and "Frog Toxin" from overseas sellers through the internet, and had falsely declared customs under the names of "ink" and "paint". After the above-mentioned drugs were smuggled into the country, Ma organized personnel to take drinks made from the above-mentioned drugs multiple times in the name of emotional therapy, and charged fees ranging from 1500 to 3500 yuan to each participant. After identification, mescalin was detected in "San Pedro", dimethyltryptamine was detected in "Dead Vine Water", and N, N-dimethyl-5-methoxytryptamine was detected in "Frog Toxin".
After trial, the Shanghai Intermediate People's Court sentenced Ma to life imprisonment for smuggling and drug trafficking in accordance with the law.
