After investigation, the police have identified a salary fraud gang led by Wang and Liu. They first search for recruitment and sales companies online, and then forge materials such as overseas high education, personal work resumes, and resignation certificates according to recruitment requirements, and fabricate their own sales resumes. These fake materials have indeed deceived some companies that do not have strict background checks for corresponding hires.
However, these people did not bring the promised sales performance to the company after joining, and there was no progress in the projects they had previously claimed to be in contact with. What's even more outrageous is that they haven't been seen for a long time during working hours. "Some people use fake medical records to take long sick leave, while others fabricate information about family members passing away, with the aim of not going to work and deceiving their basic salary," said the investigators.
After the probation period, seeing that these new employees did not bring any benefits, the company wanted to dismiss them. At this point, they held onto their employment contract and demanded that the company pay the agreed salary as compensation before resigning. Some companies have to compromise in order to calm things down.
In addition to deceiving their own salaries, members of the gang also introduce themselves to each other. "For example, some companies have relatively loose background checks and daily attendance systems for new employees, so members will introduce themselves to each other. The referrer can also earn an extra referral fee." The investigators told reporters that some gang members even apply specifically for personnel positions in the company, and then recruit other members into the company.
In the early morning of July 19 this year, the Economic Investigation Detachment of Pudong Public Security Bureau, together with Waigaoqiao Public Security Department, Chuansha Public Security Department, Sanlin Public Security Department, Huinan Public Security Department and relevant police stations, dispatched more than 100 police forces, synchronized access to the network in many places across the country, and successfully captured 108 suspect such as Wang and Liu.
It is reported that most of these suspect were salesmen in the financial industry. In order to make the deception process more realistic, some people may even find former clients as "actors" to perform "signing contracts" at the victim's company; Some people also purchase small financial products themselves to complete the probationary period assessment.
