Cruise outbound tours will have new options! Discovering a different Vietnam and Hong Kong on a cruise ship this winter
After the successive departure of cruise routes from Japan and South Korea, Chinese tourists will have new destinations for outbound cruise ships. China Merchants Viking Cruise Line announced today that it will launch a new outbound travel route, "8-day Brilliant and Charming South China Sea Tour," starting from December 3rd this year. With a new perspective on cultural tourism, it aims to create high-quality cruise tourism products and discover unique Vietnam and Hong Kong, China.
Vietnam, with its long coastline and abundant tourism resources, has been highly welcomed by tourists from around the world in recent years. According to the news released by the National Tourism Administration of Vietnam, the global ranking of search volume related to tourism in Vietnam has continued to rise since the beginning of this year, and China is currently the second largest source of inbound tourists in Vietnam. Therefore, the upcoming "8-day Shining and Charming South China Sea Tour" route this winter will visit multiple ports in Vietnam.
This new cruise route will be operated by the first Chinese ocean going cruise ship, the China Merchants Yidun. At that time, without the need for a visa, tourists can depart from Shenzhen and take a cruise ship all the way south to Vietnam's "World Natural Heritage" Xialongwan and "Oriental Hawaii" Danang, then arrive at "Oriental Pearl" Hong Kong, China, and finally return to Shenzhen. This route aims to connect with the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, explore the luxury cruise tourism market in Southeast Asia, and bring tourists a comfortable winter trip in the South China Sea with unique cultural tours.

Unlike the "take a quick look at the flowers and check-in" travel method, the new winter cruise route selects cultural highlights along the coastline to create a deep cultural exploration journey. In Xialong Bay, Vietnam, which has been recognized as a "World Natural and Cultural Heritage Site" by UNESCO, tourists can take a local cruise ship to experience the fireworks in the Qilin Island and explore its cultural treasures in famous cities or quaint villages; In Danang, Vietnam, tourists can explore the world's only Zhan ethnic sculpture museum and enjoy the leisurely time of Meixi Beach, or go to the "World Heritage" Hui'an Ancient City to experience Vietnamese rural customs; Climbing Mount Tai Ping in Hong Kong allows guests to have a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery of the entire island and Victoria, or to experience the tranquility and freshness of fishermen's lives on Lamma Island... With a rich and diverse coastal cultural and tourism experience, guests can experience a different kind of travel.
As the first ocean going cruise ship to be naturalized in China, the "China Merchants Yidun" presents a Nordic design style, equipped with 7 restaurants and cafes offering multi national cuisine, 4 specialty bars, and rich leisure and entertainment facilities, including a fitness center, outdoor sports deck, spa center, thermostatic swimming pool, theater, and cinema, as well as over 2500 carefully selected Chinese and foreign books and over 400 artworks for tourists to choose from. This cruise ship with a total tonnage of 47800 and a passenger capacity of 930 is a representative of the small and beautiful maritime industry.

Wu Wei, Chairman of China Merchants Virgin Cruises, stated that since the smooth operation of China Merchants Virgin Cruises' first outbound travel route, it has received numerous positive reviews from guests. At present, the popularity of outbound tourism continues to rise, and China Merchants Viking Cruise hopes to expand the cruise cultural experience to new destinations, promoting the diversified recovery of outbound tourism. At the same time, we will actively leverage the advantages of Shenzhen's cruise home port location, collaborate with the tourism resources of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, promote cultural exchanges and cooperation between regions, and assist in the high-quality development of China's cruise tourism.
