Starting from 00:00 on September 20, 2023, the issuance of online reservation taxi transportation certificates will be suspended.
The management bureau stated that in the next step, the municipal road transportation regulatory department will track and evaluate the capacity of the ride hailing industry in our city, and combine it with the compliance work of online reservation taxis to scientifically regulate the capacity of taxis. The resumption of relevant business processing time and specific requirements will be notified separately.
Regarding whether suspending the application for online ride hailing vehicle transportation certificates will affect the normal travel of citizens, the Shanghai Road Transport Administration responded, "Currently, there are about 76000 online ride hailing vehicles with vehicle transportation certificates in Shanghai, and 50000 patrol vehicles. Suspending the application will not have a significant impact on the travel of citizens.
