The absurd and humorous character design, the suspense from beginning to end, and the cleverly designed coincidences firmly capture the audience's attention. Unlike the title "Confused Theater Troupe", this seemingly chaotic play requires a large number of behind the scenes personnel to arrange it very finely, and the on-site scheduling is not at all "confused". This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Chinese version of "The Confused Theater Troupe". The production team has put on a "new formula" and designed a brand new stage and character design, committed to making the audience shine.
The focus of the stage renovation for "The Confused Theater Troupe" this time is on the structural details and color tones, with a focus on enhancing the architectural prototype temperament of the 16th century milk wine workshop. The combination of goose yellow tones and light brown wood structures is specially added to enhance the atmosphere. In order to make the performance more cohesive and reduce unnecessary running of actors on stage, reasonable adjustments have been made to the stairs in front and behind the stage. The staircase corner of the front stage is folded towards the center of the stage, increasing the front and rear levels; On the other side of the stage, a decorative painting wall has been added, and the monitoring window of the stage supervisor is hidden inside for more fun; There is an additional window between the storage room on the second floor and the bedroom, which brings some fresh excitement to the performance.
Zhou Linger, a stage designer, said, "After 10 years of continuous performance, the first scene of" The Confused Theater Troupe "has become intertwined with the performance movements of this play, pulling a hair and moving the whole body, which is not as easy as imagined. The up, down, left and right relationship of the 8 doors, and even the direction of the door opening, all affect the progression of the plot. I have the deepest understanding of this, and after drawing more than 20 design sketches with different starting points, I have returned to the starting point."
The actors also appeared in brand new outfits. Zhang Xu's portrayal of Lloyd, Liu Shiqi's portrayal of Pepper, and Yang Jiaqi's portrayal of Freddy have all become more vibrant in color tones, capturing the audience's attention more effectively. Yu Xiaowan's portrayal of Brooke, due to the bold and passionate personality of the character, receives multiple pairs of Barbie pink boots arranged in a row, adding a touch of bold personality to the character's portrayal.
