From July 28th to 30th, the World Expo Museum held a three-day "Museum Music Wonderful Night" on the outer square. Chinese style music, blues rock, jazz take turns making their debut, and open-air markets are open all day. Nightclubs have also been added to the "Van Gogh Reproduction" Immersive Light and Film Exhibition and the "Wonderful Silk Art - Expo and Lace Art Exhibition". Liu Wentao, the director of the World Expo Museum, told reporters that recently, the museum receives nearly 10000 visitors every weekend, breaking the record for daily passenger flow in the past six years. Among them, more than 60% of the visitors are tourists from other places. "The popularity of 'museums' is continuing to heat up, and many large museums are hard to come by. The World Expo Museum is located by the Huangpu River, with unique buildings and vast outdoor green space. We hope to connect the interior and exterior spaces of the museum through rich and colorful activities, becoming an organic whole that responds to the public and providing better cultural and leisure services."
Over a period of three days, six bands including the Smoke Wind Music Society took turns appearing on the stage outside the World Expo Museum, bringing different styles of performances. The pet adoption event jointly organized by the World Expo Museum and other institutions is very popular, with rescuers and volunteers on site sharing the experiences of each cat and dog with the audience. Yin Qing, an old friend of the World Expo Museum, and her obedient and sensible guide dog Gaia also came to the square to carry out a "dark" public welfare experience activity. Viewers can wear eye masks and follow the guidance of the guide dog Gaia.
Shadow puppeteer Yin Zhiping also attended the scene. He participated in a shadow puppetry performance at the China Pavilion of the Shanghai World Expo in 2010. On the basis of inheriting the essence of traditional art, Yin Zhiping boldly innovated shadow play in combination with contemporary hot spots, and designed and created a batch of fashionable and simple shadow play. There are also cultural and creative handicraft booths on site, offering toys, cultural and creative products, rubbings, and DIY experiences, which have attracted many children.
From the outdoors to indoors, the "Van Gogh Reproduction" Immersive Light and Film Exhibition is captivating. This exhibition has been held in 89 cities in over 30 countries, including New York, Paris, London, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Tokyo, and Beijing. At the site of the World Expo Museum, a 1300 square meter light and shadow space, over 1000 square meters of installation area, and over 8000 square meters of outdoor Arles Garden provide an immersive experience. The exhibition showcases nearly 3000 Van Gogh paintings, manuscripts, and letters through digital light and shadow. Because the popular movie "The Disappearing She" was filmed at the exhibition site, it attracted many fans to come and check in.
"Museum Music Wonderful Night" integrates rich and colorful content such as exhibitions, music, art, cultural and creative works, cute pets, performances, interactions, lectures, etc. Liu Wentao strolled around the exhibition hall, concert venue, and market, observing the audience's experiences and needs.
