Shanghai has 250 immovable revolutionary cultural relics, and the state-owned collection of movable revolutionary cultural relics is about 81000 pieces/set. Faced with such abundant cultural relics resources, how can we fully and effectively protect and utilize them? The Liberation Daily Shangguan News reporter learned from the establishment conference of the Shanghai Revolutionary Venue Alliance held at the Shanghai History Museum on July 27th that in order to further promote the red cultural brand of "the birthplace of the Party", the Shanghai Revolutionary Venue Alliance was jointly initiated and established by the Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department and the Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, with 41 revolutionary venues in the city. The establishment of the alliance marks a new stage in the high-quality collaborative development of Shanghai's revolutionary venues. At the meeting, the first lesson of the "Red Course Setting Sail" revolutionary venue was launched, and the Shanghai Red Resource Joint Catalog Database was launched.
The alliance aims to create a communication platform for revolutionary venue work throughout the city, promote high-quality collaborative development, and inherit and promote red culture. Through conducting systematic research on major topics, integrating cultural relics resources, and holding joint exhibitions, the alliance enriches the supply of practical teaching content for the "Great Ideological and Political Course", constructs a community of education between museums and schools, and promotes exchanges in inter museum research, curation, explanation, and operation, focusing on improving the development pattern of revolutionary venues and enhancing the momentum of career development. The Alliance General Assembly deliberated and passed the Constitution of the Shanghai Revolutionary Venues Alliance and the Election Measures of the Shanghai Revolutionary Venues Alliance, elected the Memorial Hall of the First National Congress of the CPC as the first rotating chairman unit of the Alliance, elected the Shanghai History Museum as the first secretary-general unit of the Alliance, and elected 11 venues such as the Shanghai Lu Xun Memorial Hall as the members of the Alliance.

Xue Feng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China Memorial Hall, stated that due to various factors such as resources, scale, funding, and talent constraints, there are problems of uneven and insufficient development in various revolutionary memorial halls in Shanghai. Some venues have rich collections, but their research capabilities may be relatively weak; Some venues have large exhibition spaces and do not have enough collections to support them; There are also some similarities in exhibition forms and dissemination methods. "We hope to establish a Revolutionary Venue Alliance to effectively solve the above-mentioned problems. After the alliance is established, it will promote each museum to carry out its own resource advantages, communicate and learn from each other in talent team construction, academic research work, diversified path dissemination, inter museum exchanges and cross-border cooperation, and actively promote the integration and efficient utilization of revolutionary cultural relics resources in the city. The alliance will further integrate Shanghai's revolutionary cultural relics resources, focus on the central task of inheriting and promoting the great spirit of building the Party, and establishing the 'birthplace of the Party' brand, carry out systematic excavation, research, exhibition, and publicity of revolutionary cultural relics, and promote the comprehensive development of revolutionary memorial halls."
At the establishment conference, the alliance signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shanghai University, Shanghai Communist Party History Society, Shanghai Tourism Vocational College, and Shanghai Art and Design Co., Ltd., encouraging and promoting social forces to actively participate in the development of Shanghai's revolutionary venue industry and the inheritance and promotion of red culture. The first lesson of the "Red Course Setting Sail" revolutionary venue is composed of 15 high-quality ideological and political courses from 13 revolutionary venues in this city. Through various forms such as revolutionary relics, red movies, and red songs, it guides young people to fasten the "first button" of life, establish a correct worldview, outlook on life, and values. These revolutionary venue courses will enter the campus and step onto the podium at the beginning of the 2023 academic year, together with primary and secondary schools, to teach the first lesson of the school year.

On that day, the Shanghai Red Resources Joint Catalogue Database was officially launched. The Shanghai Red Resources Joint Catalogue Database is led by the Office of the Joint Conference on the Protection and Utilization of Red Resources, and jointly constructed with departments such as the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee, the Party History Research Office of the Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and the Shanghai Library. The completed database provides unified retrieval and multi-dimensional display functions, relying on the Shanghai Library database to integrate data resources from 11 venues including the "Red Road" platform, Shanghai Library, Shanghai Archives, the Memorial Hall of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and the Shanghai History Museum, covering the "Shanghai Red Resource List".
In addition, the Party History Research Office of the Municipal Party Committee presented two new books, "1921-1933: The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in Shanghai" and "Jing Huo: Research on the Central Bureau of the Communist Party of China in Shanghai from 1933-1935", at the founding conference of the alliance. 1921-1933: The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in Shanghai was first published in 2006 and was re released after revision. The book uses detailed and reliable historical materials to narrate the three National Congresses held by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in Shanghai, as well as the main activities such as initiating cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, leading the May 30th Movement, and carrying out the three armed uprisings of Shanghai workers, demonstrating the difficulties and twists of the New Democratic Revolution. "Jing Huo: A Study of the Shanghai Central Bureau of the Communist Party of China from 1933 to 1935" is based on information collected by the Party History Research Office of the Municipal Party Committee in the 1980s and 1990s, combined with the archives of the Communist International and newly disclosed historical materials, to restore the history of the Shanghai Central Bureau of the Communist Party of China.
