Walking along the trail from Gate 5 of Peace Park, a two-story waterfront building with a sign of "Tea House X Hidden Bookstore" is hanging, attracting people to explore inside. On July 9th, the first domestic journal themed bookstore - "Da Yin Shu Ju · Heping Park Journal Tea House" officially opened. The two major characteristics of exclusive journals and being in open parks are pioneering in Shanghai and even across the country.

Under the promotion of the Hongkou District Committee and Government, the Peace Park Tea House of the Dayin Bookstore is jointly built by the Hongkou City Development Company, the Hongkou District Cultural and Tourism Bureau, and the Dayin Bookstore. The bookstore has a building area of 1500 square meters, with reading as the main theme, integrating "international journals+leisure tea+life aesthetics+themed catering", with a strong artistic temperament and lifestyle atmosphere.

In the bookstore, there are over 1500 journals from over 20 countries around the world, covering 30 categories including literature, news, current affairs, art, design, sports, music, fashion, life, technology, culture, history, urban memory, Shanghai style culture, and global tourism. It is a magnificent physical bookstore with the largest collection of journals in China. Among them, there are not only famous publications in Shanghai such as "Harvest", "Shanghai Literature", "Storytelling", "Fiction World", and "Selected Works of Sinan Literature", but also a large number of publications with different themes and audiences across the country and even the world. Among them, the world's thickest magazine, Himalaya, and National Geographic, which announced the suspension of print editions, are all worth watching. Some professional journals have also made their debut in domestic bookstores for the first time.

The Da Yin Bookstore and Peace Park Tea House adopt a model of "readability, borrowing, and subscription" to provide readers with borderless services for reading, purchasing, and borrowing. At the opening ceremony, the first batch of readers were presented with a "Magazine Reading Shanghai" borrowing card. He Xuan, the general manager of Da Yin Bookstore, told reporters that since 2019, Da Yin Bookstore has been thinking about how to reconstruct the appearance of future physical bookstores. In addition to large and comprehensive bookstores, they have also tried vertical boutique bookstores such as art themes and character themes. Opening this journal themed bookstore in Heping Park is also an exploration based on the reading needs of readers. "We analyze that in the park setting, readers' willingness to purchase books may not be strong. Journals are a suitable reading medium for quick flipping, suitable for citizens and tourists' needs to rest in the park. On the other hand, there are not many commercial places available for journals at present, making it inconvenient for citizens to read magazines and newspapers. A journal themed bookstore can be said to have emerged."

At the Wukang Building and Chuangzhi Tiandi stores of the Great Hidden Book Company, journal corners are popular categories among readers. Wang Yaohua, Secretary General of the Shanghai Book and Magazine Distribution Industry Association, introduced that since last year, 30 physical bookstores in Shanghai have jointly launched the "Magazine Reading Shanghai" plan, with each bookstore providing 20 selected journals suitable for public reading. After the landing of the journal themed bookstore, the efforts to "publish and read Shanghai" are expected to be further strengthened.

He Xuan introduced that the Da Yin Bookstore · Peace Park Tea House adopts a diversified and composite business model, and the bookstore selects nearly a thousand types of vinyl records, life aesthetics, innovative digital, outdoor camping and other cultural and creative products from around the world. At the same time, it deeply integrates with local culture and launches characteristic tea drinks with the theme of "Peace Eight Scenes". "The bookstore located in the park is closer to readers. We hope that this bookstore can return to the essence of reading. Readers not only purchase here, but also are willing to spend more time experiencing the park space and reading space, experiencing the fun of reading and the taste of life in the fragrance of books, clusters of flowers, and ripples."

There are many surprises hidden in the two-story space of the Peace Park Tea House in the Great Hidden Book Company. Climbing up the second floor from the spiral staircase, there is an exhibition cabinet under the large glass window with a water view, showcasing the series of paintings of Sheng Henian's "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". Looking down at the display cabinet, one can read the introduction of the comic book through the glass window. If you climb up the second floor from the back staircase of the first floor, you can encounter the rare Picasso hemp print exhibition. Looking out from the window of the activity room, it is the Monet Garden in the Peace Park version. Looking downstairs, there are three cylindrical transparent spaces with small round tables surrounded by white sofas. This is a specially designed "tea jar" space by the Tea House, where three to five friends gather and it is a very comfortable environment.

In addition to the Sheng Henian "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" serial art exhibition and the Picasso hemp plate art exhibition, the bookstore also has two special exhibitions during the opening season: the "Xinmin Weekly" cover story exhibition and the "Dream of Dreams" digital art exhibition. On the 12th of this month, the bookstore will invite more than 100 poets from across the country to gather at Peace Park and hold the largest "Listening to Poetry under the Starry Sky" event in recent years. Before August, the bookstore had arranged more than 30 events of various types, expected to serve 250000 citizens.

Taking advantage of the cultural resource integration advantages of the Great Hidden Book Company, the Peace Park Tea House will create a "hub for international journals, gathering places for celebrities and masters, and a destination for a better life." It is expected to hold 100 events throughout the year, including music markets, art exhibitions, reading sharing, new book signing, cultural performances, creative works, cultural salons, and more. At the opening ceremony, well-known journals in Shanghai, such as First Finance and Economics and Xinmin Weekly, reached a cooperation agreement with Da Yin Bookstore. In the future, 10 mainstream domestic and foreign journals will build journalist homes, advertising salons, interview centers, and reader living rooms here.

The Peace Park in Hongkou District reopened in October last year. Following the concept of park city and "park+" construction, it aims to create "New Eight Scenic Spots of Peace", superimpose cultural functions, further demonstrate "park+", and maximize the satisfaction of the park's tourism needs and cultural consumption of the public, creating a new model of comprehensive community parks. It is reported that Hongkou District will plan and implement in a unified and step-by-step manner, building a "Peace Reading Park" that integrates greenery and culture, and is suitable for walking and reading. It consists of three buildings and a central green space, with a planned construction area of over 6000 square meters. The Peace Park Tea House is its first project, and in the future, it will achieve comprehensive cultural services such as parent-child reading, comprehensive reading, capsule study rooms, shared self-study rooms, art exhibitions, and small-scale performances, and gradually try to build a 24-hour reading park.
