On June 16th, the Shanghai Film Museum celebrated its tenth birthday. Ten years ago today, at No. 595 Caoxi North Road, there were crowds of people. A group of filmmakers, including Qin Yi, Wu Yigong, Xu Ke, and Jia Zhangke, unveiled the red curtain of the Shanghai Film Studio logo sculpture at the Shanghai Film Square, announcing the official opening of the museum, which has been cherished by generations of filmmakers. At the original site of the Shanghai Film Studio, near the bustling Xujiahui area, there were no shopping malls or shopping centers built. Instead, a museum that tells the century old history of Shanghai cinema has accompanied everyone for a full ten years.

On that day, under the guidance of Shanghai Film Group and hosted by the Shanghai Film Museum, the "Red Heart: Xie Jin's Centenary Birthday Commemorative Special Exhibition" opened. This is also another heavyweight event commemorating the 100th anniversary of Xie Jin's birth, following the visit of the Shanghai Film Museum's Xie Tang branch to his hometown of Shangyu by Shanghai Film Studio on May 10th. Niu Ben, who had a touching performance in director Xie Jin's "The Wrangler", Xie Jin's disciples Shi Xiaohua, Wu Zhennian, and Bao Zhifang, as well as director Zheng Dasheng, who represented director Huang Shuqin; Xie Jin's former friends Huang Jianxin, Jiao Xiongping, Wang Tong, and Jian Jian Wenjun all attended the opening ceremony.

Director Xie Jin devoted his whole life to the art of film, and he once said, "Artists must have a heart of childishness.". This exhibition is named after this, with an exhibition area of nearly 600 square meters and a display of 534 items per set. It is divided into eight major sections and comprehensively introduces Xie Jin's growth process, family affection, film creation achievements, film career and film education exploration, friends circle, etc. It also reproduces the scenes of "Furong Town" and Xie Jin's study. It is the largest exhibition space and the largest number of exhibits since the opening of the Shanghai Film Museum. Among them, more than 200 precious exhibits such as "Chicken Feather Letter" creative notes were all unveiled for the first time. At the opening ceremony, Wang Jianer, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Shanghai Film Group, called on all art creators to "create for the people, create for the times, maintain creative passion, and embrace the gifts given to us by the times.".

As early as World Museum Day on May 18th, the Shanghai Film Museum held a special exhibition called "Ten Years of Light Collection", which covered a photo wall with exciting moments from the past decade. Precious guests and viewers also signed and left messages, together forming this exhibition full of "memories killing". On June 6th, as the countdown to the 10th anniversary celebration began, Dianbo also launched a 10 yuan ticket pre-sale on June 16th. This is the largest discount and longest lasting ticket price benefit in the past decade of Dianbo's opening, aimed at giving back to the audience's support with a public welfare ticket price. On June 16th, Dianbo opened its night club until 21:30, featuring a brand new commemorative exhibition for Xie Jin, a concert featuring classic movie melodies, a one-on-one story theater performance, a children's art workshop, and an immersive mini program game called "Finding Shadows" that lasted throughout the day.

Previously, at the 10th anniversary celebration seminar of the Shanghai Film Museum, Fan Yirong, the executive director of the museum, stated: "Over the past decade, the Electronic Museum has undergone a transformation from version 1.0 to version 2.0, which is a transformation from traditional business to a 'green development' that can achieve positive transformation. As an industry museum, it is not only necessary to 'survive', but also to 'live', which is not an easy task.". After countless attempts and explorations, Dianbo people have closely focused on the core concept of "movie museum: the possibility of seeing the world" and have embarked on an increasingly broad path.

In order to realize the healthy rotation of museums, on the basis of adhering to the four traditional functions of "cultural relics collection, academic research, social education, exhibition and display", E-Expo has started its business transformation since 2017, striving to develop innovative businesses such as "mobile museums", so that the dusty cultural relics can live. As an exhibition IP output, E-Expo comes to Shanghai center, Philharmonic Orchestra, Meiluo City, Xinchang Ancient Town, enters Suzhou, Huzhou, Youbu, Xinchang, Xietang in the Yangtze River Delta, as far as Dongying in Shandong, Hami in Xinjiang, and even Brussels in Belgium, and uses film culture to empower urban and rural development.

How to welcome the next decade? Dianbo will continue to adopt an open and inclusive attitude, connecting films with different cultural landscapes, exploring more possibilities, and achieving a transformation from traditional business to "film+" innovative business. At the same time, it is even more important to tell the story of Shanghai cinema well, inherit the spirit of predecessors, let the spirit of Shanghai cinema shine forever, and let cinema create a better life for the people.
