The amount involved in the case exceeded 100 million yuan. This time it was a pirate case. Another Genshin Impact infringement case was solved by the police | storage | infringement case
On July 31st, according to the Xuhui police in Shanghai, in conjunction with the summer public security crackdown and rectification operation, the Xuhui police recently dismantled a criminal gang led by the Zhu and Hu brothers that produced, stored, and sold infringing online game figurines. They arrested 5 suspects, seized more than 30000 infringing figurines and spare parts, and involved a total amount of over 100 million yuan. At present, the relevant suspects have been subjected to criminal coercive measures.
It is reported that in May of this year, the Xuhui police received a report of the Mihayou incident, and a special investigation team was established by the Economic Investigation Detachment and the Cybersecurity Detachment to carry out the investigation. The police started from the online sales end and quickly connected with the Guangdong Zhu brothers and the intermediary Hu brothers who supplied them. After further investigating the gang's organizational structure, modus operandi, and production, storage, and sales sites, at the end of June, the Xuhui police, with the assistance of the local police in Guangdong, carried out a network seizure, successively destroyed two sales sites, one storage warehouse and one production factory, captured five people, including suspect Zhu, and seized more than 30000 pieces of various infringing game handles and parts on the scene.
After review, starting from 2022, the Hu brothers will act as intermediaries for pirated toys, responsible for contacting sellers and buyers, and then supplying them to other peers. They customized pirated anime figurines from a toy manufacturing factory and stored them in their own warehouse, which then shipped them to their respective sales points and those of the Zhu brothers. After packaging the outer box at the sales point, both online and offline sales are synchronized to the outside world.
These pirated figurines directly use recycled plastic from secondary recycling, without any environmental processing, rough workmanship, and without supervision and review. Some characters have incomplete facial hairstyles and other details, such as asymmetrical facial features, obvious overflow of paint, no texture and highlight of hair, rough and uneven skin polishing, and some have defects such as unclear molding and parting lines, and strange painting colors.
At present, five individuals including Zhu and Hu have been subjected to criminal coercive measures in accordance with the law, and the case is still under further investigation.
This is within a week, two consecutive infringement cases related to miHoYo have been declared solved. On July 24, two cases of production and sale of "Genshin Impact" were solved by Shanghai Xuhui police. On the 31st, the official official account of Miha Tour again issued a statement on rights protection, opened a special mailbox for infringement reporting, collected and cracked down on long-term information on infringement, jointly cracked down on infringement, and protected the legitimate rights and interests of players and enterprises.
