"The works of this oil painting exhibition highlight the customs and traditions of the Jiangnan region more prominently on the screen, especially in depicting the scenery of Jiangnan. I also feel the unremitting pursuit of language art and the improvement of oil painting skills by these young oil painters." Yu Xiaofu, member of the Academic Committee of the China Oil Painting Society and Dean of the School of Fine Arts at Shanghai Normal University, said that the "Jiangnan Like Painting" oil painting exhibition has attracted a large number of Chinese oil painters, especially young oil painters, to actively participate. These participating works have rich styles and high compatibility with the theme of Jiangnan culture.

Shanghai painter Du Haijun won the Yan Wenliang Excellence Award for his work "High Buildings on the Sea". In the work, towering skyscrapers are like huge exclamation marks, expressing humanity's dream of reaching the sky since ancient times and also documenting the development of cities. In the tide of reform and opening up, towering skyscrapers rapidly grew on both sides of the Pujiang River. Under the painter's pen, dense buildings are scattered along the winding banks of the Huangpu River. He uses rich but not abrupt colors to make the tall buildings crowded but not oppressive. The dense and winding windows appear to be casual, but are carefully arranged in the building's lines, reminding the story that is happening in the city.

This is also the first time Du Haijun has brought this series of works to Suzhou for appearance. City is one of his important creative themes, and he used his paintbrushes to construct the Shanghai in his heart. He said that it was his first time participating in the "Jiangnan Ruhua" exhibition, and he originally had a try and see mentality, but did not expect to win the prize. "'Jiangnan Ruhua 'has reached its fifth edition and is a very successful oil painting art brand. We hope to use this platform to let Suzhou audiences understand the Shanghai style in oil painting."
