This is the first digital collection in Shigatse, Xizang. It aims to promote local traditional crafts into modern life by digital means, and help rural revitalization through the contemporary inheritance practice of intangible cultural heritage.
Tibetan Dao is a typical metal forging commodity and handicraft of the Tibetan people, especially the Tibetan Dao produced in Lazi County, Shigatse City, Xizang Autonomous Region, which has a history of more than 1000 years. A Lazi Tibetan knife needs to go through dozens of manual processes such as smelting, mold casting, chiseling and shaping, carving and inlaying, welding and combination, reinforcement, filing and shaping, fine carving, polishing, etc. The blade is repeatedly forged with precision steel, extremely sharp; The handle is mainly made of ox horns or hardwood; The scabbard is often carved with exquisite patterns and inlaid with jewelry, making it exceptionally gorgeous.
The digital collection of Lazi Tibetan knives for this sale was designed and completed by the Shuhe platform. Its prototype was personally created by the fifth generation descendant of Lazi Tibetan knife forging techniques, Duojicang. It has been passed down from the family to the seventh generation, Duojizhandui, and has been around for over 80 years. The blade is handcrafted from refined steel, measuring about 77 centimeters in length. The end of the blade is inlaid with red, yellow, and green gemstones. The handle and scabbard are made of white copper inlaid with brass, and the entire body is carved with auspicious animal patterns such as dragons and tigers, as well as auspicious eight treasure patterns. The craftsmanship is exquisite.
