On the afternoon of June 7, the 2024 "Cultural and Natural Heritage Day" Shanghai main venue event was held at the Qingpu District Museum, officially kicking off this year's Heritage Day series of activities. The event centered on the theme of "Deepening the Study of Archeology and Historical Civilization", and released the complete archaeological results of Shanghai for the first time, showing the development context of Shanghai civilization.
At the main venue, Xiang Yihai, deputy director of the Municipal Cultural Relics Bureau, and Li Feng, deputy mayor of Qingpu District, attended and delivered speeches. Archaeological excavations have confirmed that around 6,000 years ago, the ancestors of the late Majiabang Culture moved to Shanghai. Chen Jie also emphasized the important role of archaeological excavation and research in the protection of cultural heritage. "The scientific excavation of the Huating Seawall site provides an important basis for the Fengxian District Committee and District Government to repair and protect this national key cultural relic protection unit, and supplements valuable materials for future display and utilization."

In addition, the first batch of "Shanghai's Most" cultural relics themed tour trails and the image logo of Shanghai's fourth national cultural relics census were also unveiled. The "Most Shanghai" cultural relics themed tour trail connects cultural relics buildings, famous attractions, intangible cultural heritage experiences, etc. in the region according to different themes. Following these trails, citizens and tourists can better experience urban culture and feel the urban context. The "Searching for the Origin of Shanghai" research activity, one of the cultural heritage themed tours, also started immediately after the main venue event.
In conjunction with the release of the cultural relics theme tour, the "Architecture Readable" WeChat applet will launch a half-month discovery "most Shanghai" - building check-in activity from June 8.
