The melodious and graceful excerpt from "The Peony Pavilion" engages in a unique stage dialogue with the long-standing Tibetan opera "Suginima". On June 18, the 18th Everest Cultural Tourism Festival opened in Shigatse, Xizang. Zhang Ran, a young Kunqu Opera actor from Shanghai, appeared on the stage in the image of Du Liniang, and Wang Jiu opened a window of cultural exchange between Xizang and Xizang with Ban Dian, the head of the Tibetan Opera Troupe.

The Everest Cultural Tourism Festival is themed "Hometown of Everest: Auspicious Shigatse", with nearly 400 actors showcasing their strengths. Zhang Ran was appointed by the Shanghai Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Shanghai Federation of New Artists and Artists as the only Shanghai actor to participate in the opening ceremony in the form of cultural volunteer service. She collaborated with Ban Dianwang for a long time, interweaving "Peony Pavilion" with one of the traditional eight Tibetan operas, "Sujinima," creating a unique charm.

Zhang Ran stated that this is his first performance at an altitude of nearly 4000 meters. After transferring from Xi'an to Shigatse, Zhang Ran experienced a strong altitude reaction and needed painkillers and oxygen to rest. Le Tou, Bao Tou, Tie Pian, Wear Hairdressing... The daily attire of "Peony Pavilion" has become particularly challenging in Shigatse. Zhang Ran posted a video of herself rehearsing and taking oxygen on social media, which received hundreds of thousands of clicks in less than a day. Many netizens left comments in the comment section to cheer for Zhang Ran.

"Standing on the stage of the opening ceremony, I saw towering mountains in front of me, and with me was Bandian Wangjiu, the first winner of the Xizang Plum Blossom Award. Shigatse is also the counterpart of Shanghai, and it feels particularly good to blend the towering Everest art and the broad Shanghai culture. I hope that there will be more opportunities to cooperate in the future, and bring more good performances in Xizang to the audience." Although it is hard to work while breathing oxygen, the magnificent scenery of the plateau makes Zhang Ran even call it worthwhile.

They were deeply attracted by Zhang Ran's exquisite dress of Du Liniang and couldn't help but gather around her. Zhang Ran used his experience in art popularization to teach two young actors the basic gestures of Kunqu Opera. "Art is the best communication language. They were captured by the charm of Kunqu Opera when they first saw Du Liniang, and I look forward to the next opportunity to continue performing in Xizang."
