On August 27th, the first round of performance of "Age is a Feeling" concluded at the Shanghai Theatre Art Center. Director Luisa revealed that the drama plans to start a nationwide tour in the second half of the year, with a second round of performances in Beijing and Shanghai next spring.
"Age is a Feeling" tells the story of a woman's life from the age of 25 to the end of her life. It is divided into 12 chapters, and during each performance, there will be three rounds of selecting plot cards, inviting the audience to choose two from the four stories for the next performance. This randomness and uncertainty fills the audience with anticipation and surprise. Under the clever arrangement of the script, these 12 stories based on different stages of life, although only half of them can be portrayed in each performance, the audience stated that it does not affect the viewing of the complete performance. In the process of selecting cards, the selected stories will be emphasized for interpretation, while those that are not selected will be briefly mentioned, corresponding to a sentence in the original work - "No one will know the story of your life, including yourself." According to incomplete statistics from the production team, this form of performance can produce up to nearly 200 versions of performances.
Douban netizens gave a high score of 9.7 for the premiere. In the first round of eight performances, some viewers even walked into the theater several times in order to unlock the protagonist's unique way of opening up their lives.
