More than 200000 contestants stepped onto the dance floor of this competition, bridging the last mile of artistic and physical education in the Shanghai International Fashion Center | Sports Dance | Competition
On the evening of July 22, 2023, the 11th Shanghai Children's Sports Dance Open and Youth Sports Dance Elite Grand Prix of the "Industrial Bank Cup" Shanghai Urban Amateur League concluded at the Shanghai International Fashion Center. This year, the number of contestants registered has once again broken through, reaching 5000, and the coverage of the competition has gradually expanded. In addition to Shanghai contestants, it has also attracted contestants from the Yangtze River Delta region such as Changzhou and Suzhou to participate.
This competition has opened an on-site observation channel for the first time in three years, providing parents and spectators with the opportunity to have close contact with the competition venue. Dong Luojia, who is 5 years old, is one of the youngest contestants. Her mother said that Dong Luojia has only been studying Chinese standard dance for a year and a half. Seeing her child sweating profusely after class, she thought about giving up, but seeing her child confidently standing on the field, she felt that all the persistence was worth it. A parent of a contestant from Changzhou expressed that in order to help their child adapt to the competition environment, they arrived in Shanghai early and hoped that their child could communicate with more peers through the competition, broaden their horizons, and find their own goals to strive for.
According to incomplete statistics from the organizing committee, this year's audience includes not only the parents of the contestants, but also visitors from various districts in Shanghai, and even attracted a portion of tourists. A parent told us that there are many children learning Chinese standard dance nowadays, but they don't know if their children will like it. That's why they thought of taking their children to watch competitions, so that they can have a more intuitive understanding of Chinese standard dance.
Born over a decade ago, the National Standard Dance Competition has received support from Shanghai Sport University, Shanghai Sports Dance Association, Dinghai Road Street in Yangpu District, Shanghai International Fashion Center, and various sectors of society. More than 200000 participants have stepped onto the dance floor of this competition, covering over 1.1 million people.
During the 10 years of cooperation with the Yangpu District Government and the Yangpu District Sports Bureau, the competition has always emphasized the purpose of "promoting learning through competitions and educating people through competitions". With the Xiaoyingxing Video Account as the platform and 27 campuses in the city as the base, the competition integrates high-quality teachers from Xiaoyingxing and professional national standard dance player resources, organizes a series of live courses for the zero basic population, professional championship courses for advanced students, and competitions and performances for the public, forming a three-dimensional communication channel of "online presence and broadcasting".
Xiaoyingxing has also reached deeper cooperation with Yangpu District to establish an off campus art and sports practice collective. In the future, Xiaoyingxing and Yangpu District will focus on the "Art and Sports Practice in Yangpu" plan, create a series of extracurricular practical activities, and focus on sports dance projects such as national standard dance and street dance. With the goal of popularizing aesthetic education courses, they will open up the last mile of community art and sports practice education, carry out a series of cooperation plans that go deep into communities and streets, root in Yangpu, cover the whole city, and form a new model of activities that is normalized, scaled up, and replicable.
At the award ceremony, Xiaoyingxing and SMG's professional sports channel, Wuxing Sports, signed a joint construction agreement. Xiaoyingxing will combine its own art curriculum system, as well as the professional event resources and sports media platform of Wuxing Sports, to jointly create learning and practical opportunities suitable for children.
The competition is guided by the Municipal Sports Bureau, Municipal Sports Federation, Yangpu District People's Government, and Shanghai Radio and Television Station, hosted by the Municipal Social Sports Management Center and Yangpu District Sports Federation, and hosted by SMG Shanghai Xiaoyingxing.
