The "New Ivy League" Children's Book List, which has been released for 8 consecutive sessions, has launched its summer book list for the first time this year. It is selected by domestic children's literature writers and professional scholars, hoping to add a bright color to the holiday life of teenagers.
The "New Ivy League" children's book list was initiated by more than ten professional publishing and reading institutions, including Shanghai Children's Reading Promotion Association, Shanghai Children's Library, Shanghai Primary and Secondary School Reading Activity Promotion Association, Shanghai Book City, Century Duoyun, Shanghai Sino Japanese Children's Literature and Art Exchange Association, and Xiaoxianggu Reading Home. It has been jointly participated in by Children's Publishing House, China Children's News and Publishing Corporation, Zhejiang Children's Publishing House, Relay Publishing House, Tomorrow Publishing House, Hunan Children's Publishing House, and Beijing Children's Publishing House. So far, 8 winter vacation book lists have been released, and a total of 86 high-quality children's books have been recommended to children's readers, becoming a trustworthy reading guide in professional fields and readers.
In the summer book list released for the first time this year, there are not only new works by representative children's literature writers such as Jin Bo, Gao Hongbo, Cao Wenxuan, Qin Wenjun, Zhu Ziqiang, Tang Sulan, Xue Tao, etc., but also a collection of emerging new generation literary forces in recent years, such as Dai Yingniao's fantasy adventure series "Little Bear Bun Adventure Series", Huang Yingzhao's healing fairy tale "Dream Tapir in the Pillow", Lei Zhenyu's children's science fiction work "Mozart Adventures", etc. These works are lively and close to the real form of youth growth, injecting fresh vitality into the current team of children's literature creation.
In addition to providing guidance and recommendations for summer reading lists, the organizers also invite recommenders to share their childhood reading experiences and personalized reading journeys in the form of short videos, focusing on the theme of "Helping Children Read and Write Wisely", in response to parents' confusion about children's reading and writing. They will provide readers with clever reading and writing strategies. The century old poet Shengye encourages children to read more children's poems. Writer Ye Xin tells the story of his teenage reading life and how he slowly discovered the joy of writing through reading.
The organizer stated that the "New Ivy League" children's book list will continue to adhere to public welfare promotion. In the future, it will regularly release a recommended list of children's books for summer and winter vacations. It will also invite children's literature writers and related children's reading promoters to use new media communication channels and advantages, based in Shanghai, and targeting primary school teachers and students in remote towns and rural areas, with a diverse range of literary promotion activities. This year, it will also collaborate with social public forces such as the Shanghai Children's Library and Century Duoyun to expand children's reading promotion methods through multiple channels and platforms, using children's books selected on the "New Ivy League" list as carriers.
