On the morning of July 30th, 28 young artists, 37 young students, and 14 short-term students from home and abroad braved the wind and rain to gather at Tianjin Julia College, marking the opening of the first Tianjin Julia Piano Art Festival. During the two-week period, they will attend a music feast with 12 international masters, 2 renowned performers, 2 guest conductors, and 2 collaborating bands. As the main venue of the Piano Festival, teachers and students will hold one-on-one courses, master courses, lectures, and concerts at Tianjin Julia College. At the same time, the piano festival has set up Tianjin Julia outdoor stage and branch venue Anligan Art Center, bringing more music enthusiasts and citizens closer to piano art and classical music.
He Wei, CEO and Art Director of Tianjin Juilliard College, said, "The Piano Festival embodies the teaching philosophy of Tianjin Juilliard College - to cultivate young musicians to become artistic citizens, serve the community, and influence society. It is hoped that Tianjin Juilliard Piano Art Festival will become one of the most coveted destinations for musicians and music enthusiasts around the world."
The first Tianjin Juilliard Piano Art Festival was co hosted by Jochevy Kaplinski, the director of the piano department at Juilliard College in New York, and Wang Xiaohan, the director of the preparatory piano department at Juilliard College in Tianjin. The piano festival will also welcome multiple professional musicians and bands, who will rehearse and perform together with the students. Wang Xiaohan said, "Here, young people can interact deeply with top performing artists and other peers, while also receiving guidance from renowned mentors from around the world, and have the opportunity to rehearse and perform solos and concertos. In addition, various music themed lectures will broaden their horizons and answer many career development questions for young people."
A group of talented young musicians also gathered at the piano festival. This year, the piano festival received over a hundred registration forms from 12 countries and regions, and the final participants underwent strict screening. "I have participated in so many piano festivals and competitions, and this is the highest level of student achievement," said Jokhved Kaplinski
The Piano Art Festival has opened 29 campus activities, and the public can make free reservations for observation, including 11 student recitals, 15 master classes, and 3 lectures. In addition, the piano festival will hold four live concerts, including a solo concert by Sofia Guliak, two concerto concerts, and a closing concert. In addition, with the support of the Tianjin Julia College Education Development Foundation, the Piano Festival will hold two outdoor concerts on the Tianjin Julia Outdoor Stage, with representatives of young students performing on stage. The Piano Festival has also set up a branch venue at the Angan Art Center and will hold three concerts.
The Tianjin Julia Piano Art Festival was jointly founded by Tianjin Julia College and the Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee. Especially with community expansion performances, the people of Bincheng and even the whole city have enjoyed a high level of music popularization. "I hope to use the Tianjin Julia brand to allow musicians from all over the world to experience the beautiful Bincheng up close, and build the core area of Bincheng into a nationally renowned music hub."
