On July 6th, the 4th Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Taiwan Magic Exchange Exhibition concluded at the Guangzhou Cantonese Opera Theater. Shanghai Circus School student Jiang Ziyi, as the youngest contestant, achieved a good score of third place in total with her hand colored magic "The Phantom of the Clothes Dream".
Jiang Ziyi's award-winning program "The Phantom of Yi Meng" uses hand colored magic techniques to showcase the "dreamy life" of hardworking individuals. Handcolor magic does not require large props or complex mechanisms, relying on the skills of the actor's hands to complete the transformation. Jiang Ziyi is 18 years old this year and has just met the registration age requirement for the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Taiwan Magic Exchange Exhibition. She is the youngest participant in this exhibition.
In early 2019, Shanghai Circus School launched preparations for its magic program, inviting Bian Faji, Chairman of the Chinese Acrobats Association, Dominic Dante, Chairman of the FISM International Magic Federation, and experts in the field of acrobatics and magic from home and abroad to conduct multiple discussions. After sufficient preparation, the school recruited the first batch of students majoring in magic in "Acrobatics and Magic Performance" in September 2021, hired industry experts and famous magicians to teach on campus, and offered courses in various sub fields of magic. It became the only vocational school in the art category in China to offer magic majors. Starting this year, the magic class of the circus school has attempted to encourage students to participate in various magic competitions, test their teaching achievements over the past two years, and promote their further improvement through competitions.

Jiang Ziyi was originally a student majoring in acrobatics at Shanghai Circus School. After studying acrobatics for three years, she was discovered by the teacher as a talented performer in the magic class at school. When the magic major first officially started, she transferred from the acrobatics major. The teachers said that Jiang Ziyi has a foundation in acrobatics and has good body language expression on stage. The dance and body movements of "The Phantom of the Dream of Clothes" have become a major contribution to achieving performance results.
The relevant person in charge revealed that Shanghai Circus School will actively respond to the call of the Municipal Education Commission to carry out art education activities, establish professional and high-quality courses, and serve the audience and primary and secondary school students in the city. We have confirmed our intention to provide public services with relevant schools in Shanghai.
It is reported that the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Taiwan Magic Exchange Exhibition is jointly organized by the Art Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Guangdong Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
