This weekend, Shencheng welcomes the 2023 Cultural and Natural Heritage Day. On June 10th, the Shanghai Theatre Art Center, together with its affiliated Shanghai Peking Opera Theatre, Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe, Shanghai Shanghai Theatre, Shanghai Yue Opera Theatre, Shanghai Huai Opera Troupe, Shanghai Pingtan Troupe, and Shanghai Wanping Theatre, held a traditional Chinese opera intangible cultural heritage day event with the theme of "Intangible Cultural Heritage Opera Rhyme · Garden Tour". Over the course of two days, the center created a series of rich and colorful immersive interactive experiences integrating traditional Chinese opera markets, salons, performances, movies, and handicrafts.
On the afternoon of the 10th, the festive and exciting lion dance performance kicked off the first live performance and online live broadcast of the "Garden Appreciation" activity. Beijing Opera performer Shang Changrong and Shanghai Opera Art Center Party Secretary and President Gu Haohao added the finishing touch to the lion's awakening. Exciting scenes such as Peking Opera's "Sanchakou", Kun Opera's "Peony Pavilion: Searching for Dreams", Shanghai Opera's "Ludang Fire Seed: Wisdom Battle", Yue Opera's "Liang Zhu: Eighteen Farewells", Huai Opera's "Liu Erjie's Meeting", Pingtan's "Beautiful Scenery of Jiangnan", and "Xuge's Competition for Petition" have been staged one after another, bringing the audience closer to the opera.

In the theater reception hall of Wanping Theater, six theater troupes from Beijing, Kunming, Shanghai, Yue, Huai, and Pingtan have successively launched "Opera Salons". Famous newcomers such as Yan Qinggu, Yu Bin, Qian Sijian, Ding Yebo, Wang Yiwen, Si Yulin, Deng Huawei, Xing Na, Jiang Xiaobo, and Tao Yingyun have face-to-face conversations with the audience about art. The Kunqu opera film "Jingyang Bell" and the Yue opera film "Romance of the Western Chamber" produced by the Shanghai Opera Art Center were also exhibited during the event.
The drama aesthetic education classroom "The Hundred Treasure Chests of Xiwanwan", which focuses on the transformation of traditional Chinese opera into costumes, showcases two themes: "The Fashion Show of the White Snake" and "The Great Sage of Qi Tian, Sun Wukong". Starting from the regulation of traditional Chinese opera "five boxes and one box", it uncovers the behind the scenes secrets. Immersive makeup shows such as "Traditional Chinese Opera Dressing Table" and "Summer Lotus Fish Fun" have moved the dressing room from behind the scenes to the front stage. The Walking Theater leads citizens to explore the collision between architectural aesthetics and traditional Chinese opera culture.

In the cross-border event of "Opera+", audiences can wear Hanfu to take photos and check in, participate in the experience of opera handicrafts, dress up silk dolls in "opera costumes", and learn about the costumes of opera characters such as "Hero Mu Guiying", "Spring Blossom Du Liniang", "Empress Dowager Bai", and "Sun Wukong, the Great Sage of Heaven". It is reported that some popular events have opened online reservation channels in advance, and over 400 spots have been sold out in just a few minutes.
This event is funded by the Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation Shanghai Opera Art Center Art Development Fund and received support from the Xuhui District Cultural and Tourism Bureau. From June 9th to June 18th, the "Lost Treasure Realm -2023 Minhang Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Achievements Exhibition" was exhibited at the Minhang District Mass Art Museum. The exhibition is divided into three major sections: "Local Colors, City and Township", "Jiangnan Colors, Connecting Ancient and Modern", and "Bright Colors of Shanghai Style, Combining Chinese and Western". It showcases the achievements of intangible cultural heritage protection in Minhang District in recent years through graphics, text, physical objects, and audio and video. More than 30 national, municipal, and district level representative intangible cultural heritage projects, as well as more than 140 physical and digital exhibits, are exhibited in Minhang District.
At the exhibition site, citizens can also see many old photos of Minhang, appreciate the micro landscape of intangible cultural heritage, and immerse themselves in the cultural ecological space where Minhang intangible cultural heritage exists, as well as the face of Minhang intangible cultural heritage in the new era. During the exhibition, there will be two themed guided tours per day, with city and district level representatives and major inheritors conducting special lectures and experiential activities. It is reported that in June, Minhang District plans to carry out more than 20 "Cultural and Natural Heritage Day" intangible cultural heritage promotion and exhibition activities, covering 14 streets and towns, Xinzhuang Industrial Zone, and various project protection units in the entire district.

On the occasion of Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, the "Qi Huang Chuan Xiang" Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture and Education Base of Xiangshan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Huangpu District was also unveiled at 510 Fuxing Middle Road. The audience heard the live version of the "Health Talk Show" and traditional Chinese medicine characteristic five tone therapy, tasted the "Fugui · Xiangshan Twelve Orders" traditional Chinese medicine Tonic Diet series products jointly launched by Xiangshan Hospital and Dafugui Restaurant, saw the special plaster preparation method of Shi's Traumatology Department, the national intangible cultural heritage, understood the innovative vehicle pendant production of traditional Chinese medicine and intangible cultural heritage, experienced the manual production of traditional Chinese medicine hammer of "Xiangxing Chinese Medicine School", and unknowingly approached traditional Chinese medicine and understood traditional Chinese medicine. The branch of Xiangshan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital at No. 510 Fuxing Middle Road is one of the first batch of traditional Chinese medicine culture promotion and education bases in Shanghai. The base is named "Qi Huang Chuan Xiang" and aims to not forget the important task of promoting and developing traditional Chinese medicine culture.
