Mulberry paper, known as the "living fossil" of human civilization, has a history of over a thousand years in Xinjiang. It has the characteristics of writing and painting for thousands of years without fading, being insect proof, and not afraid of moisture. Artist and Vice Chairman of Xinjiang Artists Association, Alikun Hazi, believes that paper has significant significance in the history of human civilization development. Mulberry paper production is a part of China's paper industry and a cultural inheritance of "you have me, I have you". As Chu Xiaoli, Dean of the School of Art at Xinjiang University of Education, said, the light yellow color of mulberry paper and the texture of coarse fibers remind people of the topography and landforms of Xinjiang, such as the Gobi, desert, and wind eroded canyons.

Li Zhitian, Executive Director of Xinjiang Academy of Traditional Chinese Painting, believes that creating Chinese painting on mulberry paper and rice paper each has its own charm. Mulberry paper has outstanding characteristics, which can not only fully utilize water to express the ink charm, but also boldly add colors to create colorful heavy colors. Gongbi, freehand brushwork, and heavy colors can all present wonderful effects on mulberry paper. There is a series of works with the theme of "Tianshan" in the exhibition, which use more white space than traditional Chinese painting to depict snow capped mountains. On mulberry paper, white paint is used to outline the halo, making it very thick and magnificent. Among them, Wang Junbing, Dean of the Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute of Xinjiang University and Vice Dean of the Xinjiang Academy of Traditional Chinese Painting, exhibited his work "Spring Scenes of Tianshan Mountains", which cleverly uses the unique characteristics of mulberry paper to highlight the effect by repeatedly overlapping water, ink, and color.

The work "Early Spring" by young painter Pang Fei utilizes the characteristics of Xinjiang parchment. First, a large piece of ink is splashed on it, and then heavy strokes are used to mark the branches to separate the layers of the picture. Then, green sprouts and birds in the forest are interspersed, showcasing a vibrant image of early spring. Young artist Fan Yibin admitted that the Xinjiang mulberry paper used in this creation is different from traditional rice paper and leather paper. The texture is rough, the structure is compact, and the ink accumulation, smudging, and scratching during the painting process are unique and interesting.
In order to help the audience better understand and experience the charm of mulberry paper, an interactive area is specially set up in the exhibition hall to showcase the production process of mulberry paper. During the exhibition, the China Art Palace will also organize multiple public education activities, including artist lectures, guided tours, and on-site teaching classes for different audience groups, in combination with the exhibition theme, to play the social and aesthetic education role of art exhibitions.
