On the evening of July 14th, the outdoor stage of the Shanghai Summer Music Festival welcomed the concert "Silent Summer Night" by the HAYA band. Unexpectedly, half an hour before the performance began, there was suddenly thunder and heavy rain pouring down quickly. Will the performance continue?

At that time, the Shanghai Urban Lawn Music Square had already gathered a lot of waiting audience, and more viewers were waiting in front of the screen to watch the live broadcast. The organizers of the Shanghai Summer Music Festival urgently discussed with the HAYA band and quickly made a decision: to perform!

So, in the heavy rain, the performance started on time.

When the reporter arrived at the scene, the performance had already begun. There are over 1300 seats, most of which are fully occupied, and the rain has not dampened the enthusiasm of the audience. The scene was very orderly, with all the audience wearing transparent raincoats distributed by the organizer, and no one holding an umbrella as it would block the view of the back row audience.

"On the grassland, if a friend comes from afar and brings rain, it brings good luck," said Dai Qingtana, the lead singer of the HAYA band, to the audience. A round of enthusiastic applause echoed from the audience.

The HAYA band, founded in 2006, initially focused on the distinctive Mongolian music style, blending different musical styles along the way. They draw nutrients from traditional music, constantly inherit and innovate, and the music contains kindness towards people, reverence for nature, and exploration of the inner world.

They performed works such as "Reincarnation", "The Legend of HAYA", "Briat Dance", and "Can we stop and sing a song" in the rain. Ma Tou Qin, Dong Bu La mix and match with guitar, bass, and percussion, bringing a unique sound that blends and transcends boundaries. After 40 minutes, the rain gradually decreased.

Daiqing Tana was wearing a colorful long dress, singing and dancing on stage. There was obstruction on the stage and no audience, so Daiqingtana sat on the stage and sang, soaking in the rain with the audience. Her clothes gradually got wet, and her singing penetrated through the rain curtain.

Interestingly, before Daiqingtana sang "White Moon", the rain stopped. She said, "I hope there is a white moon rising now, maybe not in the sky, but on stage."

After the rain stopped, some viewers took off their raincoats and beat the rhythm in the air with their hands. There are two first row spectators sitting on the grass, interacting with the audience throughout the entire process. The audience accompanied the HAYA band to perform the final song.

This is not the first time a summer music festival outdoor concert has encountered heavy rain. In 2019, the famous Japanese Taigu performance group "Gutong" came to Shanghai Urban Lawn Music Square to perform. During the performance, it started to rain heavily, but the performers were not affected at all, and the audience couldn't bear to leave. At the closing ceremony, the artists on stage bowed deeply to the audience.

"Nothing can stop the progress of this concert," said Li Yuan, the audience. "There are many praises of nature in HAYA's music. Listening to this concert on the rainy lawn is a unique experience. What's even more touching is that the venue is very orderly, and whether on or off stage, there is a sense of relaxation without wind, rain or sunshine. It's really a wonderful summer night."
