On August 7th, under the guidance of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the opening ceremony of the second "Macao Youth Esports Special Internship Program" was held in Shanghai, organized by the Labor Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of the Hengqin Guangdong Macao Deep Cooperation Zone, and the Hero Sports VSPO.
This plan was first launched from October 2022 to January 2023, aiming to strengthen the connection between the two regions, achieve complementary advantages, promote talent cooperation and exchange between Shanghai and Macao, and further expand the development space for youth employment in Macau. The Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, He Yicheng, publicly stated, "Esports activities have continued to develop since 2016, but the development has no direction. We are now conducting talent training through a deep cooperation zone, hoping that Macau youth can participate in the training and return to Macau to promote sports related esports activities."

In the first "Macau Youth Esports Special Internship Program" held last year, Hero Sports VSPO provided internship opportunities in the esports industry for Macau youth; At the same time, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism also organized various cultural activities such as professional exchanges, cultural visits, and observation experiences. The second internship program is expected to last from August 7th to October 27th. Under the arrangement of Hero Sports VSPO, Macau youth will gradually understand the development status of world esports, learn professional skills related to esports, and engage in esports related business practices. This internship program has attracted nearly 100 young people from Macau to sign up and participate, mainly undergraduate students from universities such as the University of Macau, Macau University of Science and Technology, and Jinan University. After multiple rounds of selection, 18 Macau youths were successfully shortlisted and became formal students.

Shanghai is striving to build a "global esports capital". The Lingshi Road in Jing'an District, where Hero Sports VSPO is located, is jokingly referred to as the "Space Esports Center" by esports enthusiasts. This esports operator, founded in 2016, has hosted well-known event IPs including the Jakarta Asian Games esports competition, King of Glory KPL, Peace Elite PEL, CrossFire CFPL, and has established branches in South Korea, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

The internship positions provided by Hero Sports VSPO can provide Macao youth with a real opportunity to participate in the development of the esports industry, and intuitively experience the current situation and future development opportunities of the esports industry. The association between Hero Sports VSPO and Macau has a long history. Zheng Duo, the Party Branch Secretary and Chief Operating Officer, is a visiting professor at the Communication University of China and also teaches at the University of Macau. He is also a doctoral student at the University of Macau. "I would like to say to the Macau youth who are interning that esports is the common language and exclusive stage for young people, and there is huge room for development in the future.
