The gust of wind hit Shanghai Archives and Citywalk
Today, the "Glorious People's City - Red Archive Documentation Exhibition to Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Liberation of Shanghai" jointly organized by the Shanghai Municipal Archives Bureau, the Shanghai Municipal Organs Working Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the Party History Research Office of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China was launched. The exhibition uses archival documents, pictures, physical objects and video materials to review the magnificent history of Shanghai's liberation, show the glorious history of the construction and development of New Shanghai, and reflect Shanghai's vivid practice of implementing the important concept of the People's City.
On the eve of the opening of the exhibition, the Shanghai Municipal Archives and the Hongkou District Archives organized a Citywalk event called "One River, One River, Witness the Magnificence of Shanghai in 1949". The reporter and the staff of the archives department visited the Postal Building, Shanghai Tower, Customs Building, People's Heroes Memorial Tower and other urban architectural landscapes. These urban landmarks are closely related to the process of Shanghai's liberation campaign, and also bear witness to the construction and development process of Shanghai's "Glorious People's City" in the 75 years since its liberation.
The route of this event starts from the south side of Sichuan Road Bridge and goes south along the north bank of Suzhou River, passing by the Post Office Building, Shanghai Tower and Waibaidu Bridge, and then to the Bund. Take the Spring and Autumn Group's "Red Line" double-decker bus and pass by the Bank of China Building. , Customs Building, arrived at Huangpu Park, and finally ended the trip at the Shanghai People’s Heroes Memorial Tower.
Along the way, the staff of the Municipal Archives Bureau introduced groups of simulations of archives in the collection, introduced an overview of the general offensive stage of the Battle of Shanghai, and described the fighting conditions along the Suzhou River and the Bund area in the past. Walking into landmark buildings such as the Postal Building, staff from the Shanghai Postal Museum, Shanghai Tower, and Customs House introduced the thrilling or touching stories that happened in their respective buildings during the Battle of Shanghai. Everywhere they went, young archivists from the Municipal Archives Bureau and the Hongkou District Archives Bureau also showed historical photos of the building in the collection, giving every participant a sense of returning to the historical scene and perceiving the heroes of the revolutionary ancestors who fought bloody battles. The deeds and fearless spirit of not being afraid of sacrifice inspire the enthusiasm for the party and the country and gather the entrepreneurial strength of the officials.
