The 2024 Shanghai Cruise Port International Sailing Race begins, with 24 top domestic and foreign sailing teams competing for their dreams.
The wind on the river is strong and the sails are high. On May 18, the 2024 Shanghai Cruise Port International Regatta kicked off at the Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Port.
This event attracted 24 top sailing teams from home and abroad, and the participating boats were J80-class sailing boats. They competed fiercely in the open waters of Wusongkou Cruise Port for honor and dreams. Thousands of spectators watched the race live and felt the charm of sailing.
The event is jointly sponsored by the China Sailing and Windsurfing Association, Shanghai Municipal Sports Bureau, and Baoshan District People's Government, and hosted by Baoshan District Binjiang Committee, Baoshan District Sports Bureau, and Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Port Development Co., Ltd. At the same time, it has received strong support from the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, Shanghai Sailing and Windsurfing Association, Shanghai Branch of the Yangtze River Shipping Public Security Bureau, Baoshan Maritime Safety Bureau, Baoshan Customs, and Pujiang Border Inspection Station.
The Shanghai Cruise Port International Regatta was founded in 2019 and has gradually become a branded, international and market-oriented sports event. In 2024, the event will be officially included in the China Sailing Association's keel sailing ranking events.

On the shore, activities such as fierce deep-sea boxing matches, riverside resort life festivals, colorful performances, and waterfront shows are held simultaneously, bringing a full range of viewing experience to the audience.
Using events as a medium and integrating culture and tourism, the Shanghai Cruise Port International Regatta showcases the waters of Wusongkou International Cruise Port. Wusongkou International Cruise Port is an important functional window for Shanghai to vigorously develop the cruise economy, accelerate the construction of a cruise capital, and promote the development of China's coastal cruise industry. The 1,600-meter-long pier shoreline stretches like a giant dragon, welcoming sailing heroes from all over the world. There are more than 600,000 square meters of competition water with a water depth of 9 meters, providing enough space and challenges for players.
This year, Wusongkou International Cruise Port plans to receive nearly 167 ships and more than 1.4 million inbound and outbound passengers. As of May 16, Wusongkou International Cruise Port has operated a total of 52 cruises and received 412,100 passengers.
The city’s positioning as “the intersection of three rivers and the gateway to Shanghai” has given Baoshan new development opportunities. In order to allow cruise tourists to better experience the charm of cruise culture, the Baoshan Cruise Riverside Belt will be upgraded with a new look within this year, adding water-friendly space, improving the ecological landscape, implanting more holiday elements, and enhancing the atmosphere of leisure, recreation and activities. Further promote the construction of public space along the Baoshan riverfront with the international cruise port as the core. "Shanghai Sea World", located next to the cruise port, will be grandly opened on September 30 as China's first cruise-themed commercial complex and urban micro-vacation destination. The Cordis Hotel outside the port area, the Yitang Family Apartment, and the TUI Blue Hotel, the first domestic resort experience hotel of Europe's largest tourism group, will all open within the year to welcome tourists from all over the world.
