The reporter learned from Shentong Metro that from September 28, Kangheng Road Station on Line 11 officially opened for trial operation. At present, the station is undergoing comprehensive linkage debugging and various drills to prepare for the upcoming opening.
Normally, a new subway line is opened as a whole line. Why is only one station opened this time? "Kangheng Road Station is located on Line 11, the longest operating subway line in China, between Pu San Road Station and Yuqiao Station. When the second phase of the northern section was opened, it was only used as a reserved station to build the main structure because there was basically no passenger demand in the area where it was located, and it would be opened when the time was right," explained Chen Fan, manager of the electromechanical management department of the Fifth Branch of Shentong Construction Group.
With the advancement of the "Golden Central Ring Development Belt" in Pudong New Area, the "Lujiazui Digital World" park has been established around Kangheng Road Station, with urban R&D buildings, talent apartments, commercial buildings, hotels and international schools. Some companies have settled in the first phase of the "Smart Valley", and projects such as "Smart Source", "Royal Center", "Smart Cloud", "Smart Bay" and "Smart Ridge" have also been basically completed.
As the "raw land" gradually became "familiar land", the travel needs of surrounding residents and office workers increased, and the construction and renovation of the station was officially launched in July last year.

As the first underground station in Shanghai to be renovated on an existing operating line, this project faces the challenge of ensuring the normal operation of the line while ensuring the safe progress of construction. "The construction party has taken fully enclosed hard isolation protection measures at the platform door, and has fully coordinated and communicated with the operating department. Personnel entering and leaving the track area must be named, and operations must be completed after people leave and materials are cleared. At the same time, construction involving the track area is carried out during the nighttime suspension of operations, seizing the limited time window and racing against time to carry out operations." Chen Fan said.
The reporter saw at the scene that the interior of Kangheng Road Station is overall red in color. In addition to the normal entrances and exits to the ground, the four entrances and exits are all connected to the ground office buildings. Passengers can directly enter the ground buildings or sunken plazas after exiting the station, avoiding sun and rain, and realizing commuting "in one step".

There are public toilets in the station hall and platform. A clean and spacious third toilet has been added in the station hall, equipped with children's toilets, low-level wash basins, crib flaps and other facilities to meet the needs of different groups of people. At the same time, there are two barrier-free elevators in the station, one from the station hall to the platform is located in the paid area, and the other from the ground to the station hall is located at the No. 3 entrance and exit of the non-paid area.
It is worth mentioning that in addition to the humanized details, Kangheng Road Station also incorporates the concept of green and low-carbon. "The air conditioning system is a major energy consumer in the station. For this link, we use direct expansion air conditioning boxes to create a new generation of high-efficiency machine room system." Chen Fan introduced that the system uses a variety of energy-saving materials and equipment, and integrates the magnetic levitation variable frequency centrifugal chiller into the combined air conditioning box, which not only saves machine room space, but also improves the energy efficiency of the chiller and environmental control system, and reduces system energy consumption.
According to the plan, Kangheng Road Station will be put into trial operation on September 28. It will promote the accelerated development of the two major industrial sectors, the New Hope Headquarters Economic Industrial Cluster in the Yuqiao area and the Yuqiao Science and Technology Innovation Industrial Cluster, stitch together the industrial functional zones and urban functions of the Lujiazui, Jinqiao and Zhangjiang sectors, gather diverse talents and promote the integration of industry and city.
